This will be a short trip report...I'm still recovering!!!
Just returned from a 3-night stay at the Imperial Palace. Check-in was quick at about 3PM on Friday. At check-in, with a smile, I requested a room overlooking the strip which they had, but it was smoking so I turned it down. The room cost $79/79/59, had a king bed was quiet and clean. I don't know what tower it was called but it was on the 15th floor via the elevators next to the Mai Tai lounge. The casino is a little dated, but there were several $3-$5 Craps and Roulette tables, and all the dealers were very nice. I got a players card when I arrived and only played craps and roulette all weekend - no slots. When I checked out, I was comped $40 on my room for each nite Fri and Sat and $30 for Sunday, so I got about a day and a half lodging for free. I ate at Caesar's buffet for brunch Sat. I didn't think it was worth $18.12, but they kept filling my champagne glass, so I didn't complain. I used room service at the hotel twice for 'regular food', which arrived timely and was average or above quality. The only 'complaint' I had was that it always seemed to take an awfully long time to get an elevator. This was my second time at IP, and I'd have to say, all-in-all, it was a nice stay, (except this time I left too much $$$ with the casino!). I plan to be back in March and will, for the first time, try to book it from Sun - Tue/Wed to get the best hotel rates. Maybe I can finally stay at the Bellagio!
