    My Trip Report

So, I just got back from a 4-night stay at Planet Hollywood. Overall, I give it the nod. I enjoyed the stay quite a bit.

The start of the trip started a little slow, My ride was late picking me up. I was going to try the $20 trick, but forgot. When we got there, the line went quickly and I asked for a room with a good view. They gave me a room on the 15th floor in the south tower overlooking Vegas Blvd. I could see the Bellagio fountains. I did have to wait a few hours to check in because the room wasn't ready, but I was fine with that.

The positives: No construction left, it was clean and very nice inside. The staff was friendly. I was comped two buffet meals at the Spice Market. The Sports Book staff was great. They gave me 6 free drink tickets over 2 days. They also gave me nice frosted glasses for betting. I went 6 of 7 in the NFL straight bets :). I loved the bed and the tub in the rooms. The location is great. I spent a lot of time at Paris at the 3-card poker tables. Fun fun fun. The Planet Hollywood Pleasure Pit was kinda nice. Dancers on the tables behind the dealers. Very nice.

The negatives: Although I liked the bed and tub, I think the room was semi-renovated. The carpet was still old and some of the fixtures were rusty and old as well. I looks like they replaced the furniture and put in tile floors in the bathroom. The room wasn't bad, just not immaculate. But, I'm ok with that. I liked the Mirage and NYNY room better than the one I got there. The casino itself was nice, but a little confusing. I had a hard time finding the sports book. The dealers were a little cold and could have been more friendly. I had better luck at the Paris with the gaming and the dealers.

Final thoughts: I liked it a lot and had a great time. I will stay there at some point. The PH staff were really cool. After comping me two buffet meals, they offered another when I was leaving. That's a first for me. NYNY and Mirage were really stingy on comps. I'd recommend the PH.

My next stop will be Paris. I played 3-card Poker for about 6 hours Tuesday night and played on a really fun table. Everyone was hitting good hands. Everyone was cheering and high-fiving including the dealers that came through. I loved the atmosphere at Paris.

Here are a few photos. I love my new camera, the Canon SD1000. I recommend it for vacation photos. You can see more on the link below.<br>

This looks like a trip report to me, so I moved it into the appropriate section.

Nice pics, too bad you didn't quite hit on the royal but 6/7 at the book ain't bad.

BTW, the construction in your Bellagio pic is Cosmopolitan, which is going up on a sliver of land between Bellagio and City Center. Just behind what looks like a big tv screen you can see the old Jockey Club that they're building around.

ah ok. I thought the whole thing was the City Center. I forgot about the Cosmo.

Very nice. I always love pics with a report. Too bad about the royal; at least you hit a straight, I can't even do that when I hold two or three to a royal.

Funny thing, a friend I was with hit the Royal twice in two days at the TI. And she was playing $1 slots. $8000.00!

Sounds like a great trip! When I was at PH last week, I had trouble finding the sports book and bar there the first time -- and I knew where it was supposed to be. (The bartender there was complaining that no one knows it's there. I don't think there's any signage at all.)

If you had a single sink in the bathroom, the tile floors likely have always been there. The did little to renovate the bathrooms. Surprised about the carpet though; it should have been replaced. Did your room have a big black credenza with a flat-screen tv?

Re: the games, did you try the new Let It Ride game with the 3-card poker bonus bet. You'd probably like it.

I didn't play the Let it Ride. I think was in a non-renovated room. I didn't have a flat screen tv.

It was pretty easy to get confused there. But I liked it. I went to the Sports Book a lot and kept getting turned around up until the last day I was there.

I didn't notice Pinks. The one thing that kinda bugged me was it was very busy and almost overload, but I would definitely stay there again.

Thanks for your report and from your picture you did not have a renovated room.

This is what renovated rooms look like:

The bathrooms are the same just movie related pictures.

Yeah, I was definitely in an old room. I didn't mind it as is. Next time I stay there, I will ask for an updated room. I'm hoping for a quick trip in June or July.

I like the ones with pics too. I changed the link to the Kodakgallery link. I was having problem with that not working. Some of the photos in the link were at Green Valley Ranch.
