Low-Roller
So, I just got back from a 4-night stay at Planet Hollywood. Overall, I give it the nod. I enjoyed the stay quite a bit.
The start of the trip started a little slow, My ride was late picking me up. I was going to try the $20 trick, but forgot. When we got there, the line went quickly and I asked for a room with a good view. They gave me a room on the 15th floor in the south tower overlooking Vegas Blvd. I could see the Bellagio fountains. I did have to wait a few hours to check in because the room wasn't ready, but I was fine with that.
The positives: No construction left, it was clean and very nice inside. The staff was friendly. I was comped two buffet meals at the Spice Market. The Sports Book staff was great. They gave me 6 free drink tickets over 2 days. They also gave me nice frosted glasses for betting. I went 6 of 7 in the NFL straight bets
. I loved the bed and the tub in the rooms. The location is great. I spent a lot of time at Paris at the 3-card poker tables. Fun fun fun. The Planet Hollywood Pleasure Pit was kinda nice. Dancers on the tables behind the dealers. Very nice.
The negatives: Although I liked the bed and tub, I think the room was semi-renovated. The carpet was still old and some of the fixtures were rusty and old as well. I looks like they replaced the furniture and put in tile floors in the bathroom. The room wasn't bad, just not immaculate. But, I'm ok with that. I liked the Mirage and NYNY room better than the one I got there. The casino itself was nice, but a little confusing. I had a hard time finding the sports book. The dealers were a little cold and could have been more friendly. I had better luck at the Paris with the gaming and the dealers.
Final thoughts: I liked it a lot and had a great time. I will stay there at some point. The PH staff were really cool. After comping me two buffet meals, they offered another when I was leaving. That's a first for me. NYNY and Mirage were really stingy on comps. I'd recommend the PH.
My next stop will be Paris. I played 3-card Poker for about 6 hours Tuesday night and played on a really fun table. Everyone was hitting good hands. Everyone was cheering and high-fiving including the dealers that came through. I loved the atmosphere at Paris.
Here are a few photos. I love my new camera, the Canon SD1000. I recommend it for vacation photos. You can see more on the link below.<br>
