Wynn's comp policies are about as opaque as they come. And since I've always felt that they've treated me fairly, I've never really bothered trying to figure anything out.

But I will say that the "$250/hand" and "5000 points/day" are on the high side. With your play (assuming you give them 4+ hours a day), I would definitely talk to a host prior to check out, especially if you lose big - they've always been very generous with me when I have my ass handed to me.

I'm not sure what rates they use for comp value. But the casino rates I've been offered for friends are usually $199-219 on the weekends and $149 on weekdays, if that means anything.

    Thanks, man.

Yeah the time won't be an issue at all. I am thinking of mixing some baccarat in this trip too. I've played it a couple times to get the feel of it so I may dedicate a little part of the 'roll to take a bacc shot.

Continuing to line up the trip itinerary...

Just booked my NFL Sunday at Lagasse's Stadium and a Royal Shave at Art of Shaving.

The reservation on the phone with Lagasse's rep was a bit bumpy as she put me on hold about four times and I have yet to get the confirmation e-mail (will have to call back) but I opted to go with the personal area with a couch and a 32" TV for $50 per person per game. That way I can watch the Eagles play at 10am and then catch the afternoon games as well for $100 in food and beverages. She said the main stadium area was booked and that price was $100 per person per game.

I am a bit confused though because I only recall seeing the couch seating in the main stadium area so the option I booked may be off to the side a bit...I don't know. But the couch seating and my own TV was a big selling point so I have close up guaranteed access to seeing the Eagles smoke the Redskins.

The Art of Shaving is booked for my day or arrival. That way I can get from McCarran to Wynn and check in and then head over to have my shave. I chose the one in the Grand Canal Shoppes even though I had great service at Mandalay's location last trip. I used the Canal Shoppes one a few trips ago though so it should be ok.

One thing I am not looking forward to is switching hotels on Sunday because it is an NFL day. I will have to check out of Wynn early and head over to Palazzo and dump my bags at the bell desk until after the 1pm games are over.

Thanks for the info on Lagasse's stadium. I am over for two weeks for the UK in September and will definitely be booking at $50 pp

I called today and booked - still waiting for the confirmation email.......a combination of long distance line and my Estuary English accent meant I had to repeat my email address about 6 times. Went for the $50 per person per game option - I am over for two weeks so may also book for 28th if it's good

    Good stuff!

BTW if you don't get the confirmation e-mail in a couple hours call back. I don't have an accent and the girl screwed up entering my e-mail so don't feel bad. I called back and the person answering the phone fixed it and my e-mail was sent immediately.

I recently emailed MGM to ask if they would give me equivalent mlife status to match my diamond status at CET (casinos often do that).
They told me that they don't match, but offered me 3 comp nights to "welcome me back". I haven't played at a mlife casino in 4 years.
It may be worth a try for you to inquire at Mirage.

Thanks good info! I have booked everything for this upcoming trip but I plan to go to the Mirage to speak to a host to start laying the groundwork for futures!

For those wondering about high rates around Sept 19-20, that weekend is the I Heart Radio music fest.

I didn't realize it when I booked but it made sense because when I was looking at the conventions the room rates just weren't adding up. But thankfully Shelden and Steve are being nice to me for a couple nights!

    Some more trip fine tuning...

I actually booked an earlier flight than originally planned because it was cheaper. So rather than arriving a bit after noon I will now touch down in Vegas a shade before 9am. This isn't ideal since check in isn't until 3pm (although I will try to check in earlier - probably around 12) but not a killer.

I will cab it to The Wynn and drop my bags and then head down to Mon Ami Gabi for an omelette on the patio and then up to The Art of Shaving in The Canal Shoppes for my straight razor shave.

In keeping with the relaxation theme and not going a hundred miles a minute I am going to try to spend a little bit of time down at Mandalay Bay and Luxor. I have never shot craps there so I would like to try it out and spend some time away from my normal haunts up on the northside.

I have 31 days to go and it is coming quickly. Since I really haven't had any time off vacationwise since my last trip over Super Bowl Weekend I am more than ready for some R&R. Which is why I am excited to do six days in Vegas and to keep reminding myself that I need to adopt a slower pace.

The fact that I will be there with a heavy MLB, NCAAF and NFL schedule should help me space things out a bit!

Rocky, your profile says Houston and Philadelphia. I'll lay 2:5 that you most certainly do have an accent! :poke:

    Hahahaha!

Know what is funny? When I go home to PA everyone tells me that I have picked up some southern accented words. And living down here when I talk to people for the first time they get that "you're not from 'round here are ya, son?" look.

I say "yo" and "youse guys" a lot.

Some more fine tuning for the trip as it inches closer...ever so slowly....

As I mentioned I land at 0845hrs so I will cab it to The Wynn and drop my bags off. I will then catch a cab down to Paris so I can make my 1000hrs reservation at Mon Ami Gabi. Being that it is later in the breakfast hour and that I am solo I hope I can get a spot on the patio as that is the only reason I want to eat there.

Originally I had my Royal Shave booked immediately after breakfast at 1130hrs at the Canal Shoppes location but I switched it up to the Mandalay location tonight. I wanted to get some south strip time in and since I have time to waste before check-in this is the perfect opportunity. Plus I had my Royal Shave done here in February by a lady who was very good - so I re-booked with her at around noon.

After that it leaves me some time to test the craps and blackjack waters before heading back to Wynn to get checked in.

The time cannot go fast enough...September 18th where you at?!

What are you planning to do that weekend? I'll prob be around MGM, NYNY, and/or Aria and/or Bellagio for BJ, VP, and maybe a little dice. I don't play at your level, though...

I land on the 19th and have Mon Ami Gabi planned for Sat. morning. Solo trip. I might catch you as Lagasse Sunday if it's OK? But as we have stated for solo trips, no timetable, anything goes. Yo Eagles!

Saturday and Sunday will be all about football but after the games are done I am down for shooting some dice. I will be starting a separate TR thread so just post up in there when you're free and we'll see if we can meet up for some dice or blackjack. I've never shot dice much at MGM so I could meet you down there no prob!

Sounds like we both love MAG for the breakfast on the patio, Joe!

And for sure on Lagasse's...I will be there. One of my buddies from back home, also an Eagles fan, will be in town that weekend so he will probably be dropping by too!

So someone on Twitter today posted a pic of ROOT BEER PANCAKES from a place called Brentwood Cafe on Warm Springs Rd

It doesn't look too far from the Strip so I will probably catch a cab over there to try them.

I love root beer. I love pancakes. How will the two mesh? I want to know!

So two weeks from now I will probably bouncing off the walls and not able to sleep since I have an early flight on the morning of the 18th...but the time has ground to a screeching halt.

I have seven days of work left until vacation begins. The days are longer. I stare longingly at the clock. My boss keeps adding meetings and other things that I cannot possibly be bothered with next week...I mean he's a Vegas guy! Doesn't he know that the productivity level for the last week of work preceding a Vegas trip is zero?

I have three ongoing lists in my phone for my logistics, things to do and shit to not forget to buy/pack...

Anyway I received two mailers today from the places over in Louisiana. One for $145 in cash and one for $125 in promo chips for Sept 12-14.

Soooo....I am thinking of taking the drive over next weekend with those offers and trying to boost up the ol' Vegas bankroll.
