    My Trip Report

I just booked our airfare to Vegas for October 21 for a long weekend to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday. We have been on the twice a year to Vegas mode for a while and always have a great time. Her birthday is the 21st. I am thinking dinner at some place fun (we are not real formal people) and dropping about 3/4 carat diamond stud earrings (white gold) on her between the main course and dinner. I am thinking about shipping out the jewelry (insured of course) to our casino host at Imperial Palace to make sure airport security doesn't accidently display the goods and spoil the surprise. Anyone had experience with this sort of activity. Suggestions would be appreciated.

I have heard of people having jewelry sent to the Las Vegas branch of the jeweler they purchased from. I don't know if this would work for you, but it is one thing to consider.

I bought a Tiffany ring locally for my wife. The sales rep then had it shipped to the Las Vegas Tiffany store in the Bellagio. I am sure that other national chains would do the same if you explain what you would like to do. BTW Tiffany did not charge me for the shipping.

I am sure your wife will love the surprise! Good luck. [IMG]

You could also have a friend fed-ex it to you after you've arrived (or ship it the day you leave so it arrives when you're there....Though if your wife answers the phone from the front desk it might give away the surprise....) Shipping to a jewelry store would be nice but only practical if you have bought the earrings from a store with a Vegas connection....Did you talk to your host at IP?
