Just putting it out there because it seems so far and close at the same time! Been planning this trip since December and don't think I will be making anymore trips out to the promised lands until this one.

June 30 to July 2, weekend before 4th of july staying at Cosmo as of now in a 2 bed wrap around. Might change to another hotel like Venetian. Might add a couple days of the end to hang out through the 45th. Anyone have experience with that weekend? Is 48th of july during the week a big event?

Also I will be starting a potential slot pull thread because I loved the last one over superbowl so much.
 
I've been on several July 4ths on different days of the week. If the 4th falls on a Fri-Sat-Sun or Mon, then it's basically just a 3 day weekend type of crowd. If it falls on Tue-Wed-Thu, it's nothing. There's some fireworks, but I've never watched them. It's really not a big deal on the Strip at all.
 
My role during the third week of June will be that of a degenerate blackjack player struggling against the odds to win a little cash while keeping his lovely wife well-fed, well-massaged, and happy....

I'm going, but dates TBD because they haven't identified the dates for the GGWU bonus event.
 
June 21-25 at South Point for a casino chip collectors convention. I'll probably stay on property the entire trip. Kind of looking forward to staying at South Point as I've read many nice things about it here on VMB. It took me 54 years to finally become a conventioneer........woohoo!!!

Thanks for the heads up, if it falls on a weekday like this year, do they do fireworks on the weekend? Also does it seem to be any busier as far as the strip goes?

I believe they do fireworks on the Strip on the actual 4th, regardless of which day of the week it falls on. One thing I keep meaning to do but never get around to is find out fireworks schedules in the surrounding area and see if I can spot them from my room.

When it falls on Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon, so the observed holiday is on Fri or Mon, it's a typical 3 day weekend crowd; larger than normal inflow from California, etc. When it's in the middle of the week, normal summer crowd, definitely not busier. I like to schedule my summer trips to include the 4th because it means one less work vacation day I have to use.
 
Watching slot videos tonight and came across one where the group goes down to about 75 from 1k and then hits a davinci diamonds bonus to go back to even. Put me in the mood for another slot pull!!
 
At one point, I was in Vegas for July 4 every summer for a few years in a row- for me, it seemed very low key- but there is fireworks and some events that go on. It is a nice time to be there during that time.
 
Wsop is in june? What events are you planning on playing?
 
Will be there when they announce the dates of the GGWU bonus event. There is also a silver Striker tournament at the QQQQ 6/23-6/25. Trading session is 6/24.

I'm curious what this is all about. That would be something totally different for me to stay downtown and check these out. I may book a trip then. I want to try and win some at V/P!
