I don't understand this. What do you do with your mask while you're in the pool? Do they provide you with plastic baggies to put your mask into and leave it on the side of the pool while you're swimming? And, if so, how do you know you're getting your mask back? Those pleated blue masks all look the same.

Hmmm, I was reading it with interpretation that you have to wear it at all times other than swimming or entering/exiting the pool

    That doesn't sound much fun.

Glad I'm a vampire, and the only swimming I do is in the tub :evillaugh:

I don’t think THEY know how to answer those questions either regarding masks & pools. No one knows - everyone is trying to figure things out. I don’t know how one is expected to continue with their travel plans right now or the near future unfortunately.

I guess In a bag. They’re flimsy, so you probably need to weigh them down with something.

Cloth mask. If it gets wet, it will dry. leave it with your phone, maybe?

My April trip was cancelled for me when everything shut down. My Vegas needs to have the shows and the dining, and meet-ups with friends from other places like California and Canada. None of those friends are planning trips any time soon, and there are no shows. So I am in no hurry to go back until 2021, when I hope things are better and when I have to use my non-refundable airfare credit.

People were leaving them on their loungers with their stuff when I was there last weekend. Also, if you happen to be wearing a typical disposable surgical type mask, they were giving them away in dispensers all over the place, including and especially all the entrances and exits, at just about every property, and forcing you to take one if you didnt have one, so it would be easy enough to grab another. At both Caesars and Bellagio, there were also a number of security and or hotel staff, primarily enforcing mask rules, walking around with boxes of them in their hand so anyone out of compliance with whom they spoke who claimed not to have one, was given one out of the box. They really did make it very easy to comply in that sense. Caesars had sanitizer and free masks at the pool entrance / exit and at least once I saw staff roaming with a box of masks out at the pool area.

Last week at the Mandalay pool they had a couple of attendants with boxes of masks, if you needed a new one they were readily available... this was before the Gov came out with the new vague guidelines. People used common sense, folks in their lounge chairs and in the pool had no mask, just about everyone else moving about in the area had one on. You'll get the extremes, the mask ****s who think we will all die without one and the people who think you are burning the flag by making them wear one. In between common sense usually wins....

I am trying to picture tan lines wearing a face mask:woohoo:

Many of us Vegas lovers are in the same sad situation. My yearly August trip will be a no show, although I haven’t had the heart to cancel my room reservations yet. Ugh, that is going to be a tough call.

My group starts the morning off at the Cal pool (not open). Then my son goes to the Boar Bar for beer and reading his beloved newspapers (MSS not open). In the afternoon us sisters sit at the outdoor bar at the Four Queens and listen to our favorite band (no outdoor bands). In the evening the five of us hit the $5.00 blackjack tables hard with lots of fist pumping and high fives (only three players per table with minimum bets of $10 per hand).

One in our group won’t travel until there is a Covid vaccine. I guess my fingers are crossed for August 2021.

We have trips booked in August and September. Will likely cancel both. I just don’t think I will like the vibe. Too much stress and planning around orders. We booked a cabin in the smoky mountains which is about an 8 hour drive for us. Just looking forward to going somewhere and I like that it’s secluded so won’t have to worry about mandates and being around others.

Sorry you had to cancel July. I’m there in August too and it all hinges on masks at the pool. I don’t mind a slowed down version of Vegas, just give me my pool time without a mask!

Today I cancelled my trip scheduled for this Sunday-Wednesday. The deciding factor was my work schedule...

My LV trip is the first week of November.

If America began tomorrow, It would take 3 months of wearing masks, distancing and doing every other preventative measure- certainly not packing bars and restaurants, to slow this scourge down.

America has shown ZERO sign of following that guidance. So that trip is certain to be cancelled.

I don't believe the land border between us will or shouid be open before New Year's now!

I don’t think Vegas will stay open much longer. It’s too crowded at Aria. Just my opinion but I think enough people aren’t following the protocols despite best efforts of the casinos that spread will continue to accelerate and there is enough obvious noncompliance they will close it down.

Even on the flights I think it’s too crowded for there not to be some spread.

The pool thing is a total joke. Every just holds their drinks or is in pool. People are walking all over without masks on. It is outdoors and they are spread out so maybe not so bad, but they definitely aren’t following the intent of the governors orders, mostly using the drink as a loophole.

As for masks inside, most only pull down while sipping drinks.

I'm sure there are alot of opinions about mask compliance, predicting closures, etc.

I have no prediction... because I can't predict the confluence of effects: rationale, science-based hypotheses and human tolerance.

I read a fascinating article several weeks ago. It was about the end of pandemics. If the article was to be believed, humans have a history of declaring pandemics ended for various reasons: sometimes a communicable disease runs its course, sometimes a vaccine was discovered, and sometimes, society had simply had enough and said "it's over, get on with living...." even when incidence/prevalence indicated otherwise. The article went on to say that Spanish Flu in early 20th century was declared over long before it actually was ... we chose to ignore what was happening

So, I'm not buying into predictions that LV will shut down. Because society is wired to pursue what it wants, and there may be overwhelming denial and refusal to shut down again even for very sound reasons. We have a history of unsound decisions. We're contradictory beings.

I'm not advocating what should happen; nor am I making/accepting any predictions.

So.... I have reservations for trips in August, September, October, November AND December to hedge my bets against unpredictable behavior.

This is extremely well stated and makes a lot of sense.

There was a huge difference from Friday to Saturday at Aria pool. Rumor is they got a large fine and on Saturday it was full constant enforcement. Including people being kicked out of pool deck.

However in the pool itself it was a free for all.

Agree it is hard to predict. I’m keeping one reservation for Sept because it has a Phoenix component so I can just stay there and golf, but I’m cancelling August and October Vegas trips.

I think it will close and while the mask compliance was ok, the spacing non compliance made me uncomfortable.
