Yay for Part 2 starting off well - enjoy your family time

 

Kids went to bed and Brother-in-Law and I went out to see a couple casinos. BiL has never been to Vegas before somehow. He wanted to “walk around and see a casino” so we went to Green Valley Ranch for a bit. I won $106 slotting around. BiL lost $5.

 

Then we snuck over to Skyline for a quick session of bartop VP and a drink. 9/6 JoB progressives are alive and well.



This $1.50 shrimp cocktail is totally going to have to happen at some point.


One quad - no Royal. I was up $12.50. BiL down $20.

 

Some sad news from Skyline. Was talking with bartender last night - one of the Dummkopfs passed away and the group has decided to retire. No more polka at Skyline - at least for now. They have added a couple of new entertainers and live music is back on though, which is a nice return to normalcy. Love sitting at their bartops listening to music and chasing the progressive Royal.

 

Today is mostly family and pool time. Went swimming with the kiddos all morning. Niece spent like 30 minutes throwing things in the pool for me to retrieve. Apparently this is the best thing ever.

Snuck away to downtown Henderson during naps. Even at Pass. They have opened tables - they had a $5 BJ and $1 roulette table open. Craps table and additional Bj tables weren’t open. I was even on some slotting around.

Then over to Rainbow Club where I lost $220 on $1,400 coin in on 10 play $.01 10/6 DDB. Only four quads. Womp womp. Took my $20 cash back and wandered over to Emerald Island where I lost $50 slotting around. Not my best day ever. Now back to Aunt and Uncles for BBQ and more swimming. Back to the grind tomorrow.

 

BiL and Dad have never been to Vegas before and BiL is heading home tomorrow - so we came down to the strip to see a bit. Parked at Excalibur and meandered up to Bellagio. Just saw first fountain show of the day and now making our way back. Plan to watch SCF final/pool tonight. I won $95 slotting around and lost $20 but got two drinks at Chandelier bar. Score! My first time playing at Chandelier somehow. I have BiL and dad convinced of the wonders of bartop VP. Mom is still on the fence, but loves bloody marys.

Work is done for the day. Woo hoo! My dad is cooking filets wrapped in bacon - they look super yum. But I have even more amazing dinner plans later. Time to get my gamble on. I’ve been to trying to hit more locals bars to check them out now that I’m coming to Vegas so often. We picked up a rental car yesterday so first stop today is Rum Runners on Tropicana. Their Wednesday promo is play $100, get $20 FP. I ended up $33.75 and a beer. Score! The bar is pretty nice on its own merits - pool tables, foosball, plenty of TVs for Sportsball.

 

Stop 2 - Crown and Anchor for their Gambler’s Happy Hour. Play $200, get $25 in FP. Was down about $30, but hit quad Aces on FP to finish up $90 and a Magners.

 

This is good stuff. I love to read about locals joints and promotions, I hope you made 100 stops...

 

Over to Wynn where I matched my CET Diamond to Wynn Platinum. Then puttered about a bit on the floor before heading to Charlie’s bar to catch the third period of Stanley Cup Final game. Played quite a bit and had a couple nice hits - ultimately even on the night at Wynn so far. Dinner at Lakeside with friends soon - but can’t tear myself away from hockey.

Dinner at Lakeside with @Flowers, @luck.ofthe.draw, @MCann, and Flowers’ NY friend. Everything about it was fabulous. We had a table outside - I’ve never seen the Lake of Dreams shows - they were super cool. Catching up with old friends and making some new ones is always awesome.


I suspect everyone else got better pictures than I did - so make sure to check their reports - but I’ll post what I managed to get. I started with a Lake of Dreams cocktail, corn chowder, and the mahi mahi. We also got every side on the menu. And I tried a bit of the lobster risotto. Everything I tasted was fabulous and the ambiance and company made it even better. There was a really excellent bottle of Chardonnay with the entrees too.

I had to duck out before the dessert course, but I bet it was epic. My sister is headed east on a red eye for some in person meetings tomorrow - I’m on baby duty tonight. Apparently my niece snores. Seriously - how does a tiny little thing make this much noise? I’m going to need a nap tomorrow.
