@ardee - it was a super fun experience. It’s just that the waitress went awol about the time we were ready for the check and it literally took me talking to 5 different people (and 45 minutes) for her to eventually show up. Up until then it was an absolute blast.

The singers and dancers are great. And the band is so versatile. They bounce from genre to genre with ease and are really the star of the show IMO. The crowd interaction is fun but they don’t take it to the point where people were becoming uncomfortable.

Most everything we ate was excellent as well. The caviar tacos and Brussels sprouts were my favorites, sis loved the spicy mussels. About the only thing I found to be average was the short rib stroganoff.

Okay about ready to make my way downstairs and start the day. We have Herringbone at 11. Hopefully, I’ll do better with food porn today.

:feedme: Is that skillet pan with bread slices a version of Spanish eggs? No matter...looks delicious.
I hope your sis is having a great time with you, @thecarve.

I think it was a similar thing. It was eggs al forno - there was shredded pork in a tomato based sauce with the egg on top. And it was so good.

Actually, everything was excellent. As @Vegasdriven58 pointed out in her TR a while back, the desserts come straight from Sysco or the like. But everything else was fresh and delicious. This might be my new favoite brunch spot. $60 might seem a little dear for brunch. But it would have cost twice that had I paid for everything I ate a la carte.

    Allergic, unfortunately.

After the strong start, gambling has been just brutal. Only one quad since the early run. I’m still in the black, but just barely.

Fortunately, my luck with the food had been far better. And dinner isn’t far off!

Sis is currently getting her hair did at the place downstairs. After that, we’ll be heading over to Mandarin Bar and then on to Picasso for dinner. :feedme:

Sorry about the gambling - good luck on a come back. You are certainly eating well, the Herringbone buffet looked fantastic.

Mandarin Bar: Great (very pricy) cocktails, service and view. Plus, robots.

Picasso: food was phenomenal and I don’t think I could have found a fault with the service if I’d tried. Great experience. But...a bit quiet/stuffy for my taste.

Yep! We’re having a good time. It’s hotter than Hades and our proximity to the Marquee pool has meant that afternoon naps have been out of the question. So we’re running on fumes (and red bull) at this point. But I think we’ll be able to manage another night of fun!

Sis wanted to do the zip line, so we just returned from there. It was fun (and quite a bit faster than I would have expected), but not $40 fun.

We’ve decided to skip MJ and Charlie Palmer tonight and will probably just hang around Cosmo and/or the center strip area. Dinner will be at Zuma.

I’ve heard nothing but great things about the views from The Mandarin.....but, I’ve got to tell you....those views you’ve posted are underwhelming.

Okay, so, something happened this morning that really pissed me off. And I’m trying to decide whether I’m just tired and cranky and upset about my bad luck in the casino or if I have a legitimate gripe:

When I went to get a marker this morning for $2000, I was informed that I could have it in chips or a TITO but not cash. The issue was that I went a stretch last night where I forgot to use my card (cuz booze) and the system showed that I had over a $1000 left from the last marker I took. After I raised hell (respectfully), they eventually said I could have $1000 in cash and if I lost that, I could continue to take out markers for $1000 at a time.

To be honest, this really isn’t a tremendous hassle. And I certainly understand their reasoning. But I have a history with Cosmo. I’ve never taken markers to use for anything but gambling AT Cosmo. And I pay off my markers before I leave - every trip w/o exception. So franky, I was pretty offended that they couldn’t just take my word for it.

Eventually, they spoke with my host (it’s her weekend) and let me know that everything is cool now. But the whole thing just left a bad taste in my mouth. So now I’m just not sure if I want to give them more action tonight or head next door to Aria and see if the 802/804 will give me some love.

Okay, rant over. Thanks for listening.

Cosmo definitely changed the way they do markers.
They “lock” your line per trip now; and you have to get a (your) host to “unlock”’ it (after they verify you’re a hotel guest and some other stuff)
We had lost $2500 marker last weekend and we wanted another $2500 and they said only tickets (we don’t play tables) no cash.
Simple enough..collect ticket, put in a machine immediately hit cash out and proceed to main cage ( we did this in the high limit cage)
I guess a lot of people have strung out Cosmo for a ton of cash

The views are much better in person, IMHO.

    Dusk is a great time!
