Is White Castle moving west and landing on the strip?

    • May 27, 2014 12:54 Great News for White Castle Fans: After mobbed appearances at successive Las Vegas food-truck festivals (with a rumored rate of 20,000 burgers per day sold at the most recent event), cult brand White Castle Slyders is hoping to open its first brick-and-mortar venue on the West Coast, with the venue rumored to be Casino Royale. In the meantime, during the month of June members of the El Cortez players club can receive complimentary White Castles every Thursday, from noon to 6 p.m.

G R O S S! They are disgusting. We have them all over here and I haven't eaten at one in 20 years and don't plan to do so anytime soon. Casino Royale is a good place for them. Smell is about the same:vomit:

0% BAC = 0 WC burgers consumed. From there, it's a strong positive correlation. I want to say that my record back in college was 14 in one sitting, maybe a few more.

I have a cast iron stomach and will try anything once, twice if it tastes good. But those belly bombers make me nauseous about an hour after I eat them. Maybe that was my problem, I was sober.

I tried to eat a White Castle "hamburger" 25+ years ago in Minneapolis. It was so bad, I tossed it into the nearest garbage disposal. I was used to eating hamburger from local cattle producers or locker plants--the bite I took of WC was made of something, but it sure didn't taste like ground beef.

They have been in our area all my life or at least as long as I can remember....and I'm 65. They certainly have a cult following....especially for those leaving a bar at 2-3am...lol. Some folks even plan their weddings for inside the restaurant....sorry, never understood that one. But, we must be in the mood for them and couldn't eat them often. Every once in a while....just have to have a couple and they are about a mile from our house. Sure would never get any while in LV. Bet some of the 20 somethings would hit the place after a club closed though.... :)

A White Castle would do a killing with those leaving the bars and clubs after 2am. I remember being extremely drunk and hungry one night/morning on a trip several years ago trying to find the McD's at the MGM Grand. Out of sheer luck we found the place, and I kid you not those McDoubles tasted better than a filet at any LV steakhouse. Drunk people love cheap greasy food and a well placed WC will have them lining up.

Considering the western border of White Castle is St. Cloud, MN to the north and Columbia, MO to the south, it will never happen unfortunately. Much rather have White Castle than that vastly overrated In-n-Out though.

Wow, I feel stupid. I didn't read the OP. I feel like this is a dumb decision for corporate though, well, maybe if they charge about $1+ a slider it might work ($0.69 currently in STL).

Ok I'm going to be in VEGAS the first weekend June so I"m going to be there on Thursday.

I had White Castles Chicago and New York so this saves me a trip up north.

We used to call them "gut burgers" and the only time I remember semi-enjoying them was a few times when we were in high school and stopped there for a late Friday (LOL, actually Saturday) semi-sober-up session. (Yes, we could legally drink at 18 back then.) They are too onion-y and just plain gross. They make McDonald's burgers (or even Wetson's - anyone else remember that one) haute cuisine by comparison!

I keep seeing people saying that this would be first west coast White Castle. This is not true, many years ago there was a white Castle In Everett Washington. It only lasted a couple of years, I guess the White Castle wasn't seeing a lot of success over here.

With White Castle coming to Vegas, be ready for walking into those clouds of silent deadly farts in the elevator, on the casino floor and worst of all - on the plane ride home!!

I love WC, grew up with them all my life - but the older I get, I can't eat them as often as I used to. I eat a couple of those with some onion rings and I leave a trail of noxious fumes trailing behind (no pun intended). LOLOL!!!

I don't care about the burgers, but I remember the Boardwalk Casino used to have White Castle burgers. It wasn't a stand alone business, but they served them in their snack bar/coffee shop area.
