Good tips all around so far. Aria is usually our home base, too. Every trip we get at least one slice of the Forager pizza at Five 50 (mushroom, bacon, ricotta, white sauce). I'm craving one right now! The buffet is pretty good, but Wicked Spoon at Cosmo beats it. The espresso martini I had at the Alibi lounge was the best I've ever had.

The "shortcut" to Cosmo (option 2, above) is very convenient, but do be careful when you cross the lanes of traffic in the Cosmo parking ramp. The sight lines aren't good (for drivers or pedestrians) and people aren't looking for pedestrians.

Clarification, my upgrade to a Corner Suite is $100.00 per night. My apologies, I am heavily medicated due to a nasty flu bug.

spicole pretty much covered it, except he left one thing out - when you are going to Park MGM from Aria you will also find the entrance to the Tram there. If you happen to be nearby and don't want to have to go all the way out of the casino and cut through Vdara you can just take the tram to Bellagio instead.

The last couple of times I have stayed in Vegas I have eaten at Burger Lounge at Aria (mentioned previously in this thread). It is open 8am until midnight and the burgers are huge and delicious. Plus they also sell tater tots with cheese and chives inside, with a side of ranch dressing (need I say more?). It's more of a takeout spot with very few tables that fill up quickly, so I just get it to go and bring it back up to my room to eat.

Aria and Cosmo are my homebases. I've never been to the Spa in Aria so I can't comment on that.

    The restaurants:
Catch: great atmosphere the bar at the entrance is great for people watching and the bartenders really know what they're mixing. the food was fantastic. (I saw Kobe Bryant come in with his family)
Sage: first time there was fabulous, the second time around not so much. we commented that the signature dish, foie gras brulee, was not up to par and they comped us our meal. a nice gesture considering we weren't commenting to complain.
Bardot Brasserie: food was wonderful, we had the beef wellington (off menu, they only have 3-4 available a night) and it was the best wellington I've had (table side carving). Happy hour was ok with ok bar snacks (was looking forward to the poutine)
Harringbone: great outdoor patio for drinks and the service was great. I didn't have any food though.
Lemongrass: food was par and service was underwhelming
Blossom: the food was excellent and service was good, but a little on the pricey side for what you get... Mott32 in Palazzo was much better.
Javier's: the food was outstanding and the drinks were great. I usually go for a lunch here as dinner can be really busy. dark atmosphere but nice for a couple enjoying each other's company
Patisserie: great for grabbing a morning coffee/mocha, but if you get a tower suite upgrade, you can get free non-alcoholic drinks from the tower suite lounge with some snacks... great place to grab some water to go if you walk up and down the strip in the heat
Julien Serrano Tapas: Service was good, the food was not.

I've not tried five50 yet, because my go to for pizza is secret pizza in Cosmo.

Lobby Bar is great for people watching and Alibi is great for drinks in a more intimate setting. Lift bar is always great with live music playing

Game play is good but I do find the casio floor smokey when it's really busy... but hey it's Vegas and if it's on fire, there will be smoke :)

    Thank you.....very thoughtful of you.

We are both excited at this trip. As some of you might know I suffered a heart attack in 2012 and then got diagnosed with C-PTSD as a result of working as a peace officer. My beloved bride has been there for me each step of the way.

So it is refreshing to plan a trip where we are celebrating her. It’s her 50th BD, so between the Aria and Wynn we intend to enjoy our six nights :)

Aria is my 2nd favorite casino after Wyncore. I just want to make a few small points. Both Lift and Gem are great bars, especially because the bartenders are good about drink comps. I think Lift is a better bar if you're with a few people because they have tables, plus the music is great and fun. Also, Lift is good for people watching. But if you're just in the mood for a few drinks and VP, then either will do. But I'm always impressed by the comping.

    katalyst,

I have been to Bardot Brasserie several times, both for dinner and happy hour and have never been disappointed. It is French Bistro setting. Food, service, and drinks have always been very good. It is up on the second floor with the other restaurants.

I will just miss you as I am in town June 19-23. Hope you have a great trip!

^^^^^^^ thank-you it has. Took an extra day off as I had scheduled a root canal prior to the trip.

I am getting a little worried about all staff cuts to Mlife properties, especially Aria seems to have had their share of those cuts.

Looking forward to this trip sooo much. Time to take it easy and relax...

Please let us know if any of the cuts are noticeable to guests or casino players.

Good rundown on the restaurants although I do like Serrano and it is open late.
You left out my two favorites, Carbone and Jean George.
I always have dinner at both every trip.
The bar at catch is great. Bartenders are fantastic.Get there early or late because it is jammed.

You're absolutely right I did leave out Carbone and Jean George. I think I left out Burger Lounge too. Unfortunately I can 't comment on these places as I've not had any experience there.

What are your thoughts on these places, I'd love to know as I'm thinking of going to Carbone on my next trip out.

But if you want some other restaurant reviews, Let me know :)

    Marky,

Our experience at 5-50 Pizza was not very good during our last visit it maybe due to:

    Grey Goose martinis for her
    Makers Mark for me
    It was at closing time

So we will give it another shot.
