    Saw price from Vegas to Chicago for $57 while at a red light going to work. By the next red light, I had purchased it. Coming home March 31st.

    Now just need to figure out the rest of the trip (which includes two nights at the Wynn comped).

    Lol. Didn't expect to do this. Especially after a deal alert while at a red light.

    No, I did not text and drive. I waited at red lights.

    Well the 24 hour cancellation-full refund policy that all airlines are required to have makes it more easy to pull the trigger. You then have 24 hours to think it over and cancel if you want.

    Yes, have made use of that 24 hour thing many times.

    And congrats to the OP for finding and booking a trip - ZAM!

    Saw a $96 RT fare on AA yesterday and grabbed it. Now have to decide how many of the days to spend in Vegas 3, 2 or maybe even 0

    It is essential to note though that this ONLY applies to flights that are booked at least seven days before the scheduled departure. That is... if you book on the 21st to leave on the 29th, you can cancel within 24 hours at no cost. Whereas if you book on the 25th to leave on the 29th, you do not benefit from this protection.

    Even if I wanted to switch it to Wednesday (since I have comps and none for Saturday?)

    FARE-USD $ 63. 26

    TAXES AND CARRIER-IMPOSED FEES $ 33. 54

    TICKET TOTAL $ 96. 80

    The odd thing is you're not supposed to be able to buy a seat with this fare, you get assigned a seat at check-in.
    When I went poking around in the app all of a sudden I was offered an option to buy a seat on the outbound segment so I grabbed one.

    STANDARD SEATS/ORD-LAS
    AMOUNT
    $ 6.63 USD
    TOTAL
    $ 7.09 USD

    There are some exceptions: Phones can be used to report an emergency situation, while parked on the shoulder of a roadway, or when traffic is naturally obstructed — such as waiting for a train to pass — if a vehicle is in neutral or parked. It's also acceptable to use an electronic device if it's in Bluetooth or hands-free mode.

    For those unaware how texting and driving/hands free laws work in IL. Just a friendly PSA.

    I once took an impulsive trip on Muse Airlines out of Hobby airport in Houston...the 72 hour promotion was that, for one unopened pack of cigarettes you could board with no fare (space available)... they were the very first "non-smoking" airline, trying to gin up business... so, yeah - me and a buddy figured we could handle not smoking for a few hours & we jumped on it... got the same deal on our return flight.

    I’d have booked it too. But knowing my luck, the other way would be $8,000.

    Nothing better than impulsive trips.

    Before I had elder care responsibilities, There were trips booked after midnight the day I left.
