Some scammers will walk down the hallways and push on doors. they are looking for doors the are not complely closed. If the door is closed tight, they just move on. they are hoping that the occupant left and did not close the door tight. It happens occasionally; and security is aware issue. In fact, I've seen security at IP walking down the hallway and pulling on every door to make sure they are closed tight. So close your door, and lock the deadbolt. No one will be able to break in without making a lot of noise. And this applies to all LV casinos

They didn't have chain locks in Tower 3 where I stayed last week, but they did have the levered type of lock where it swings over a ball and prevents the door from opening, similar to the chain locks.

    Ip - safe

I stayed as a single woman and was in and out of my room at all hours of the night. Never once did I not feel safe. I always checked that the door was shut and deadbolted behind me. Additionally, I always move over the metal "bar" that would stop anyone from coming in when I was in the room. VERY safe hotel, no different than any hotel in any other city. Always make sure your door is shut and always make sure you are aware of your surroundings.

    Most of all, HAVE FUN!

I have one of the small rubber door stops I toss in my suitcase for when I travel alone. It gives me a bit more mental security. In Troy (MI) in July my Embassy Suites door wouldn't engage the deadbolt unless I physically 'lifted' the door. So doors can be an issue anywhere. And trust, me for a 4' 11" girl to have to 'lift' the door so the deadbolt will engage while still trying to turn the deadbolt. Yeah, not fun. (And I have often mentioned the $$$ Marriott where the door had to be physically 'pulled' shut behind you on the way out or it wouldn't latch properly.)
