Borgata is updating the chips in their machines to be completely compatible with Mlife. I was there this morning at around 6am. I put a bennie in the machine and nothing worked. Then an error message came up. I pressed the service button and stood up behind the chair. No service people around. No security people around. No one that works there in any capacity around. I waited a solid 5 minutes. No one to even call to and try to get their attention. I want my bennie back.

And then I made it happen. @EastCoastVegasFan! would have been rolling on the floor (if he was standing 10 ft away from me). @vegasnut would have been mortified. I told the player at the next machine to hold his ears. And then I started screaming. Yeah. Really. "Help! Help! Hello? Help!" Screaming.

And in 30 seconds a security person was there telling me that he will see to it that someone from service comes right over to fix the machine and get me my money...which they did.

Honestly, saying something (respectfully, of course) is always the right move. You'd be amazed at how many problems go unnoticed until someone speaks up. And if it's just one person, that's one thing, but once a few people bring it up, that gets paid attention to. Sometimes management just flat-out doesn't know there's an issue, and many people don't want to be seen as "complaining" so just go somewhere else.

Separately, I also make it a point to commend people who do a good job. I once waited a half-hour on hold to get to a supervisor just to give praise to a line worker. It's "customer service" for a reason, after all!

Frustrating when you can't get service. Back in the coin out days, buddy and I were at the Orleans waiting to see a show. It was about time to go and I had a nice hit for about $80. It spit out less than $10 before the hopper ran dry. It took over ten minutes to get someone over. I guess they ignored the service light on top of the machine!

MGM and Borgata really dropped the ball with this changeover, but I think that the casino industry in Atlantic City will struggle to re-hire staff this summer.

I love it! You got a result that should have happened right away anyway.
