"I'm not messing around"... TR 3/20-3/22

OK... I will start off saying that this was a different trip for me. It is unlike any other I have been on and did different things I usually do in Vegas. It was originally going to be a big trip with a lot of my friends, but the trip got split into 2 separate trips and I somehow got committed to go to both. This trip was with my friend Candace and her boyfriend. I really kind of felt like the third wheel most of the time, but I still had fun.

Here we go....

We planned to leave LA at 2 am. I tried to get some rest before that but I was too excited to even think about sleeping. My friends pick me up and I jump into the car and my friend passes me a shot of vodka and says "Let's get the party started, BITCH." I knew it was going to be a bit of a train wreck if I stated drinking then, but the 5 hour drive would be a lot more interesting if I had some drinks in me. I look at them and say "Man, you guys aren't messing around!" They died laughing (I wasn't trying to be funny) So that became our phrase for the trip that we said way too many times.

For the record ... our driver wasn't drinking.

So we stop at Whiskey Pete's for a little stretching and fun. I was pretty drunk at this point and I hadn't even got to Vegas yet and it was only 6 am. Like I said "I'm not messing around"

So we end up getting into Vegas at about 7 or so. We try to check into IP but our room wasn't ready. My friends boyfriend went to play craps while I sat down at some penny slot. I won 80 bucks and decided to walk. At this point we were all so tired and needed to lie down. Candace has family in Vegas so we call them and ask if we can sleep at their house.

I sleep for about a half hour and wake everyone up. No one wanted to leave but I was really antsy and wanted to go back to the hotel and start my trip. I eventually got them up and we got back to the IP at about 11 am. Our room was ready and I actually was pretty suprised with the hotel in general. It wasn't a dump! It isn't the Bellagio, but it's way better than Excalibur. We had a deluxe room overlooking the Harrah's pool and I could see a little bit of the Mirage from the balcony. I loved having that balcony. I'm a smoker and my friends aren't so it was nice to just go out there to smoke so I didn't bother anyone.

My friends decide to sleep and I decide to try my luck at the BJ tables so I sit down at one in the champagne pit and buy in for a hundred and sign up for a players card because the pit boss asked me if I wanted to. The cocktail server was awesome and got me pretty buzzed by 2. I ended up getting really great cards and stared betting way more and having just great luck. I'm sorry... 2 blackjacks and 3 21's in a row?! I am NOT messing around!

So I ended up being up 400 from that session which was awesome because that is all the money I brought with me. So I doubled my money in about 3 hours. NICE!

We made reservations at Lawry's
at 7:30 because my friend's were craving prime rib. That sounded great me. My friends wanted to play craps so I went down to the casino for a while with them. He tells me that I am bad luck at the craps table because everytme I am around he starts to lose. I don't mess around with stuff like that so I left for some more black jack. I ended up loosing about 50-when I looked at the clock and realized it was time for the Barbary Coast meet up. I was a little disappointed in myself for already being pretty out of it. Oh, well, I had been drinking since am with VERY little sleep-they'll understand!

My friend wants to come with me. So we walk to BC and meet everyone. I was really excited to be there. It was a little overwhelming at first ... trying to place faces to names and what not. I had to sit back and kind of take it all in because it was so strange to finally meet people. Blackjack bought me a margarita (THANKS!) and I mingled with everyone (Rambill, Jack21, Blackjack, Mikey and Beach Crazy, and Bosco, RossW) and was REALLY enjoying myself. Like everyone has said in their own trip reports-these are great people! Jack21 persuades me to play craps. I agree because the tables always look so fun! So I buy in and he;s trying to explain the game- I always have to try and learn this game when I am a little drunk. So I pretty much have no idea what I am betting on but I trust him. I am down to like 25 when the dice are handed to me. I am a little nervous but decide to be a little loud. I personally think tables are better when there is great energy on it so I stick to being a bit silly when I am on them. I guess I had a decent roll. I have no idea but I did make my money back plus a little bit and Jack 21 made some cash. I still don't understand what the game is about ... but I am on a mission to learn. Thanks Jack for a good first craps roll. I couldn't have done it without you!

We go back to the rest of the crew and I have a few more drinks. Thanks Killer for the watermelon martini shot! IT was very YUMMY! Then my friends come buy and tell me its almost time to go to dinner and we need to go. I was about to flake on dinner plans because I was having a great time. But I couldn't do that. I really wished I did though because this hour and a half I spent with everyone was the highlight of my trip. I wish you guys could have seen me be a little crazier like I usually am-but there is always next year. And by the way, Blackjack-You weren't wearing any beads at BC! I really wished you did ... there would have been a little flashing going on!

So I walk back to the IP-drunk- bymyself. I could barely walk in a straight line. I tried but it wasn't working. I ran into a porn slapper and fell infront of margaritaville. Oh well! I'll never see any of those people again!

I try to look halfway decent which didn't work too well. I decide that I am going back blonde after this trip. My brown hair is just not working for me at all!

Something I forgot to mention is that every parking structure we parked in, we got awesome spots right near the elevator on level 3. SO I convinced myself that 3 was going to hit on the roulette wheel and every table I passed by I bet on it. So I bet 5 on red and 5 on 3 and 1 on 6 and every thing down that had a multiple of 3. (9, 18, 21, 27. I hit the three and we went to dinner. Nice start to my night. I swear I was screaming so loud when I hit that number. I'm not messing around!

We went o Lawry's and had a great dinner. We killed 2 bottles of cab and decided to go to Body English. I was already really tired but I need to go on.

We get to Hard Rock and there is an insane amount of people. The Motley Crue concert just got out so it looked like it was going to be impossible to get into Body English. I didn't get in touch with Vegas Host early enough so we just left. We had 2 guys with us so I wasn't gong to even try to talk my way in there. That is the first club in Vegas I haven't been able to get into. I'm sure if I was actually sober enough to talk my way into something, I might have succeeded.

Anyway, this is where my night went down hill. As we were walking out of the Hard Rock my friend's boyfriend's friend rips off a "Support our troops" sticker off of a car. I get really mad. I am pretty politically moderate-leaning mostly to the right, but I would never rip something off a car that I didn't like. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I am not about to tramp on that! They claim that the Support our troops sticker means 'Support our president" and they don't. I swear it just got me so mad that they didn't understand what that stood for. Of course they also didn't understand what my side of it was.... We got into many political arguments through out the trip.

So we decide to go to OPM at Caesar's. I am not really in the mood to even be out but I decide to go anyway. I hate this club. The people there are not very nice. The only good thing about it is they offer bottomless champagne to the first 100 ladies. SO I got drunk pretty much for nothing. My friend and her boyfriend were dancing and I am pretty much by myself. No one came up to talk to me. I have never had any problem making friends especially in Vegas. I deiced that this club just isn't for me. I tell my friend I am going to take a cab somewhere but they can stay and have fun. They decide to go with me and we go back to the IP to change clothes.

We decide to go downtown because I have never been there. We get to the nugget about 230 or so. My friend and her boyfriend are fighting and I just want to have a good time. SO I start playing blackjack-the tables were not so kind to me so I walk away only down 25 or so. I somehow make it to the sports book and pass out on one of the chairs there. My friends find me after they were done fighting and we leave. We go back to the IP and I get my second wind and decide to play more blackjack. I knew I was way too drunk to be playing and especially betting crazy like I was. My $50- $100 bets paid off and I was up from that session like 300 and something dollars. I went to sleep around 530-kind of depressed I was by myself most of the night and I didn't really party like I usually do. I think it's my brown hair. Blondes really do have more fun!

So I wake up at 10 and no one else is awake. I go down to the casino, get drunk, do not so good on the tables, and go back up to the room at 1 and they are still not awake. I wake them up and tell them that I am going to get my self into financial debt playing in the casino if they don't watch out for me. SO they get up and we go to the car show thing at the IP. It was fun. We took a lot of silly pictures and I bought a ridiculous amount of stuff at the gift shop there. I collect pictures and movie star things so I went a little crazy.

We decided to go The STRAT to gamble. I hate the vibe of that place. The dealers were mean and cold and there was no one being loud and I just felt uncomfortable.

We went back to the IP and I don't remember what I did. Probably more Blackjack. I can't remember. But I got ready for our Dinner at Roy's.

Roy's was great. I hit on our waiter but he was very professional about it as it was obvious I was pretty trashed! My friend wanted to lay down so me and my girl friend decide to walk the strip. We were acting pretty crazy. We flashed some cab driver outside the IP who went crazy (My friend is a DD) and end up at Carnival Court where the bartender poured a shot down my throat. (It's all about the tip!) We leave there and head to casino Royal. The had a sign up for 50 free slot play when we sign up for a players card. So in our drunk minds it sounded like a good idea, but it wasn't. The lady next to me hit 1000 credits but could cash out because it wasn't a "jack pot." I felt bad for her having to sit and play down to zero.

We go back to the IP and decide to go to a strip club. We needed a back of America so they could get some money out. I fall asleep in the car so they woke me up and told me we we're going to Reno. I said it's like 5 hours away! Can you just drop me off at the hotel? They decide to go to Area 51 to look for aliens or something like that. I don't really remember but it just sounded like something I DIDN'T want to do at 2 in the morning in Vegas. SO they drop me off. I had every intention of just going back to my room but I had to stop at the roulette table to see if 3 would hit. I did the same thing I mentioned earlier and I hit the 15 and played on that money for a while. I ran into Bosco in the casino. I don't remember what was said but we had a little conversation. I decide to go to the Blackjack tables and make myself some money back. I did and went to sleep. I woke my friends up because I couldn't walk and was knocking everything over.

I woke up around 9 and yelled. "You guys, I am still drunk from last night" They weren't to happy about that so I went to the casino and hit 130 on some penny slot and went up to the room to get ready to leave.

We check out and I meet up with a friend from LA who was just got into town while my 2 other friends do romantic things.

We order "red headed sluts" from the bar (jaeger, cranberry, and something else) and get pretty wasted. I flashed the Ricky Martin dealer in the "Dealertainers pit" and we deiced its time to go home.

Drive home sucked!

Thoughts:

- It was a different trip for me. I didn't really like it. I was really lonely and didn't really meet anyone I clicked with.

- The IP is not a dump. I liked it a lot and had a lot of fun there!

- I wished I spent more time with T2V crew. I had the most fun with them.

- I drank so much! I need to detox before my next trip in 3 weeks.

- I'll never go to Vegas as the 3rd wheel again!

 

Sorry to hear this trip wasn't one of your best. There's nothing worse then getting into political arguments on a trip to Vegas. Hopefully your one in 3 weeks will be better.

Like you, I always think I can learn to play craps when I'm drunk. It never works out for me though.

Damnit Blackjack! Why weren't you wearing any beads?

That sounds like a lot of alcohol...you are my new hero!

Great trip report, Typh. But personally, rather than receive bottomless champagne for the first 100 ladies, I'd rather receive a bottomless lady for the first 100 champagnes.

I've been waiting for your report. Sorry you didn't have that great of a time. You still made me proud though-you made the most of it, that's what I like about you. Funny thing about your hair color-as soon as I died mine darker more guys would hit on me. I hear ya on the drive home-it sucks!! I wish I could have been there to be your partner in crime. Do you think you could squeeze in a trip in May or June, I know you and I would have a blast. Thanks for sharing.

Drea- We do need to go to Vegas together. I probably won't make it out for a little while after these 2 trips becasue I am sure I'll be broke as hell. Vegashost won't be able to control the 2 of us!

Ok... it's time to go back! Is that sad? I have only been back less then 48 hours and I am itching to party again?!

Sorry this trip report is so boring... I mean compared to the rest of my trips, it is pretty lame...

I swear I've known a few women in my time who could put away the liquor but you put them all to shame. Can't even imagine drinking that much and living. I can imagine the "flashing" though...and I think I'll go imagine it in private now.

 

Even though this wasn't one of your best trips, your TRs always amaze me and make me thirsty Thanks for the report.

 

Typh, sorry to hear this was a "learning" trip. But at least you were in Vegas and you made the most of it. Plus you met some great T2V-ers and will enjoy their company next year.

Should we ever be in Vegas at the same time we will for sure hit a couple clubs and work on earining some beads. (hmmm, wonder what we would get flashed from the guys if we offered "them" beads?)

I go to Primm on a regular basis. If we need to get away for a quick Saturday night we head there. They have pretty good bands at all 3 casinos and we can pretend we are "clubbing".
