Taking (and funding) a big group (5 including myself) in a few days... Please give me some cheap eats! Lol..
Are there any $1.99 buffet's left, "and don't get stingy on me"

IMHO, Silver Sevens would be your closest bet for buffet "cheap eats", but nowhere near $1.99.

$8.99-$13.99.

You might be stuck eating hot dogs at Casino Royale. You could probably scrounge for some 2-4-1's and maybe buy one or two coupon books and do it that way.

Coupon books will be helpful. Going to Ellis island for their steak special while having everyone get their $10 freeplay for signing up would be a nearly free effort.

Also, Earl of Sandwich has a new member deal that gets you a free sandwich or something. You can use that at Planet Hollywood.

You're cheapest buffets will be at the B connected properties which are near strip and downtown.

Finally, the MGM food courts have those paper tray liners with buy one get one half off for the restaurants there. That could help.

I'd also play a little myvegas to get BOGO at Excal and Luxor.

These ideas aren't all the tastiest but it's the cheapest things I can think of haha

Funding a group of five doesn't seem like being cheap at all. You may want to eat downtown over the strip. They seem to have better deals.

Oh and there was a $4 midnight steak special at southpoint casino when I visited two years ago. May still exist. Probably need to see if there's a shuttle out to it or something or it'll cost too much getting there.

We thought about eating that on a Friday night a few years ago, until we saw the line. Looks like it's five bucks now.

I tend to eat Chipotle once a trip. It's not super cheap, but they don't mark up on the strip. Most people should be full for under $10/pp. And there is always McDonalds...

If you go to www.lva.com (las vegas advisor web site) and click on 'restaurants' and then 'graveyard specials' you will get all of the super cheap specials around town going on from 11:00pm - 6:00am (and some outside those hours). If you're coming from the east coast it is easy to be up at 4:00am to take advantage of them. If you're coming from the west coast it is easy to be up after 11:00pm to take advantage of them...and then just have coffee and a danish when you get up the following morning.

  • Another Strip/DT/Off-Strip Trip
There are enough coupons for gambling and TONS of 2:1 buffets in the LVA (Las Vegas Advisor) member's rewards booklet and the ACG (American Casino Guide) to save you 50% on buffets throughout your stay. The savings will pay for the cost of the booklets plus much more.

What kind of accommodations have you booked at Hilton Grand Vacations? Will you have a car? When we stay in condos or time shares with a kitchen or at least a fridge we pick up some provisions and usually have breakfast in the room. Pick up a case of water, beer, soft drinks, snacks.

Casino Royals has $1 Michelobs and take a look at the steak special at Ellis Island, about a half mile from where you're staying.

there are dozens of tips in the frugal thread. start on page 1.
This is great advice, do a little homework.

Definitely look into Las Vegas Advisor. Purchase multiple subscriptions (you will have to have friends buy online, or bring them into the office with you). Stay downtown and take advantage of lower prices on both food and hotels. Savings will let you rent cars if you feel that's neccessary. Buy show tickets at tix4tonight, locations all over town. Start using MyVegas to accumulate freebies. Have your friends do the same.
Best lower-priced buffets: MSS, Orleans, Palms, anyplace with "Station" in the name. Definitely visit Ellis Island. Good food and cheap drinks. Coffee shops are often better options than buffets

Blondies in the miracle mile mall $3.99 breakfast 2 eggs, hash-browns and bacon mon-thurs.

Pretty sure the Hard Rock still has the $7.77 off menu steak and shrimp deal at Mr. Lucky's as well as a $10.99 Prime Rib. Hash House a Go Go at the Linq also has huge portions at good prices. You could easily share a few plates or have tons of leftovers to take back for later.

I don't mind Hash a Go Go. I know it's not dirt cheap, but for an extra 10 bucks a head than the places listed here, you'll have delicious food that'll span two meals at least (portions are enormous).

Regardless of where you end up....Make sure you ask for some of the blue and the yellow!

The web site Vegas4locals has great deals and the coupons are free and several 2/1 exist. And it is not just for locals either. Anyone can print off the coupons. This may help with your cost.
