I like Bobby Flay's food and I've read the Amalfi menu. I'm not sure what I'd order because I'm unfamiliar with about 50% of the menu. I like various Italian food, not sure I want to go to experiment.
    Opinions?

We had the grilled octupus as an appetizer and branzini for dinner and loved them both. Our waiter suggested squash blossoms, not a fan. It was very expensive.

@oghuman the grilled octopus was excellent, as was black ink pasta. Fish was tasty but was terribly overpriced. Try to get a table in the main dining room and not the bar/lounge. Very busy place. I made a reservation but was funneled into the lounge.

I like it a lot but it is very fish focused and definitely not traditional Italian. If you like Flay and aren’t set on meat or pasta, you will like it. The fish isn’t as overpriced as I thought it would be, lol. They push the octopus and it is good.

My meal in July was excellent. It's def. on my list of places to return to. I had the tuna tartare, charred octopus, squid ink fettucine, and the "lemon, lemon, lemon" dessert.

I'd do three orders of the grilled octopus with your fav beverage and call it a night. Nothing more delicious

We were invited to a special Grand Opening dinner and enjoyed a wonderful 'tasting menu' where we tried a number of dishes. Seafood is not my spouse's favorite, but we enjoyed the Charred Octopus (to our surprise!). We also enjoyed the Orecchiette with Eggplant Bolognese, Fritto Misto, Spagetti Zuchinne, salads and desserts.

When we went back for a second dinner, we stuck with pastas, salad & dessert which was plenty for us.

Squash blossoms are an old time Italian traditions. and almost fell by the wayside but in some circles are starting to make a comeback.

It's decent. Portions are tiny. Not a good value.

I just discovered this place in September and really liked it. Since I was by myself, I could only get a bar seat, but they set it up really well there that I still felt I was at a restaurant vs a bar if that makes sense. The food and wine was solid. You have to go in the back to choose your fish (they did this at that Greek restaurant at Cosmo that moved to Venetian). I got the snapper, a side of super yummy green beans, pasta with eggplant bolognese and a bottle of their cometa. I think I had their budino for dessert. Here’s the food pix:) 06F14430-1E52-4E8B-9046-92504B27D9A3.jpeg 13A2E555-D2DC-4C64-9084-A5AF646CB08A.jpeg DB960756-6943-48A8-86E1-9BC6385936BF.jpeg 2D4AE6B9-A6D7-4F79-A7E1-D910E8E8A05C.jpeg 7372CBC9-12ED-4D46-92EC-C31146493FAE.jpeg A4E7DCAB-C0AC-43C7-A5A9-6353A960FD58.jpeg 5F444F74-9617-406D-8F4F-EDDBA5E1679C.jpeg

Following this post as I also was thinking of trying Amalfi. Those food pics look good ! And since the grilled octopus is getting rave reviews just might have to try that.

I'm still on the fence, I can't decide there are a few things that appeal to me and many that are unknown to me. I guess my friend and I will have to talk about this when we get there.
