I used my CET celebration dinner, valet parking, and rewards credits and did not lose my comps

I know this was theorized and mentioned but I don't know if it was confirmed.

I just wanted to share and confirm that i recently printed a new card at a kiosk and used my CET celebration dinner, valet parking, and rewards credits on CET and after a week did not lose my comp calendar. Can't be sure about how it will affect offers because my current ones have not yet expired. I stayed at an MGM property and did not use my CET card in any other fashion. No gambling on my card. Just food and parking. Comp calendar still there.

If you have a large number of days when you did play in the past year, a single day of zero play won’t impact your ADT that much.

Even with 10 total days of activity a single zero play day won’t hit your comp/rate calendar noticeably until the higher play days start to fall off.

Just to be clear - this may not provide any valid data points. Here is my thinking - which could be totally wrong.

    1) If any of those activities triggered a "day" for ADT purposes, existing offers would not go away as you already have those showing. Future offers might be reduced though, but even that is hard to tell as casinos tend to move offers up and down across the board month to month even if the ADT does not change at all.

    2) A reduction in ADT could still show comp rooms available if you did not fall below whatever level of ADT they are using this month to allocate free rooms. For example, an ADT between 500 and 800 make you eligible for comp rooms. (totally made up numbers here). If you dropped from 785 to 540 due to low play, you would still be fine.

    3) And maybe I do not have a clue. Highly probable.

I can’t be certain things haven’t or won’t change under Eldorado, but I have used my card for non gaming activities at CET properties for years without play and it has never changed a thing. A low play day has, but no play days have not. I have been told numerous times that only play on the card triggers a day, my experiences confirm this. Parking, drinks, celebration dinners, using points, none of it has done anything. In fact I only play one day per trip when staying at CET, generally 500 TC’s and haven’t paid for a room in Vegas (other than an occasional small charge for a Saturday night) in years. I think some people over think it. Do what you want, when you want.

There was a host that used to post here that addressed this question, writing
“Anytime you use your card for comps or your card is used while on property it will trigger a gaming day.”

Maybe he was wrong or maybe it’s changed, but he was pretty clear that any use of your total reward card counted.

My experience as a Los Angeles player in Vegas has been that one day of using comps (with no play) will have little effect on future comps. For the last seven years I’ve been Diamond +, spending between between 4 to 12 days a month in Vegas. Three nights are spent on a CET properties, but I visited the Diamond/Laurel Lounge everyday and now use the vouchers everyday on a 12 night trip. I get consistent rooms offers (comped Sun-Thurs and occasional weekends), but my free play offers are reduced ($20 fp average). Play VP only.
My wife, also Diamond, has less overall play, but more concentrated (2000+ tc in a day vs my 500-1000). Her offer calendar is fuller (weekend rooms comped). Never used the Diamond Lounge, but does get better offers ($50 fp). She no/low played on comped nights on occasion. Plays VP and blackjack.
My feeling is the hotel offer calendar is rated separate from the other comps (tournament, fp, food). Consistent gaming will keep your hotel offers coming. Over use of complimentary comps (redundancy, I know) will lower future comps. Ex. every visit to the Laurel Lounge was a $20 “charge” to your comp bucket.
One day, no play, let’s have fun, free night on CET expense should have no difference on future offers.

Absolutely, if you are spending 36 nights a year in CET hotels a single day of comp use with zero play is not going to impact you at all.

It makes me realize if I have 20 days/year on the radar in Vegas, a single zero play day would only reduce my ADT by 5%. No biggie.

I suspect using the lounges and vouchers for 9 days with low/zero play will start to have an impact. The CET algorithm may be smart enough to see that you play when you stay and therefore continue to offer you rooms.

We don’t know how many visits/year the OP has.

Don't worry boys, ultimate test coming soon.

I'm barely a calendar comp person and will be doing 10 nights no play no spend with rewards credits for multiple meals.

Personally I could buy that the hotel doesn't matter or only matters on check in day not each day, but I think the multiple days using RCs has to sink me if nothing else.

This thread reminded about something I wanted to follow-up on and report here, but forgot about.

This concerns my Eldorado...Curdled Cream Of The Crap trip.

Host booked a Harrah's Executive Suite as my gf's first(of two)Seven Stars trip. He also booked her under her $375 monthly free play offer. She also had $1200 free play from airfare reimbursement.

Since gf's brother was meeting us there, host also booked a connector standard room under my card(NOT using a Seven Stars trip, although I am SS)and my $500 monthly free play offer.

    Booked for 4 nights.

Since it was gf's SS trip, we decided to mostly play on her card.

We played on her card all 4 days.

I played only one day on my card, playing the $500 free play thru along with some of its residual money. I earned 300-400 tier credits that day. WELL BELOW my average daily play in Vegas.

Never stuck my card in a machine the rest of the trip.

Did use approx. $16 in Reward Credits at the gift shop one day.

Every day, including check-out day, I swiped my card at the kiosk and got my 4 free beverage coupons and $10 food coupon.

My gf's monthly free play went from $375 to $500. Her offer calendar has most nights comp'd everywhere thru December except for CP and NOBU. She has at least half the nights at CP comp'd, but very few at Nobu.

My monthly free play went from $500 to $375. My monthly calendar has every night at every property comp'd thru December except for about half a dozen nights at CP and Nobu.

I expected worse considering my VERY low play. I also find it odd that my gf's free play goes up, but her comp calendar isn't as "comp'd" as mine. My free play goes down(not as much as I thought it would)and my comp calendar is pretty much all comp.

We had nothing to backend as we had the SS $500 folio, as well as all the the SS and Diamond dinners. She still has one SS trip and $600 in SS dinners, along with 2 $600 Diamond Elite airfares. I have all of my 2 SS trips, SS and Diamond dinners, and 2 $600 Diamond Elite airfares.

We need to start feeling "Vegasy" again.

OP here, I don't want to be a downer but I just checked my CET calendar and all the comp rates are gone. I know for a fact that I did not use my card for gaming. just meals and parking and celebration dinner. And now my entire calendar shows a base member rate. I'm just hoping it's a glitch which i've seen the site do before.

Prior to this i was receiving comps on all properties even nobu, caesars, and cromell, which included premium rooms, weekends, and premium weekends like Labor day, new years, memorial day. All gone now.... Guess I was wrong. Take this as w arning.

However my offers are still active. But maybe because they have not expired yet. I want to assume that your personal calendar rate gets more frequent and timely updates

But as you can see I don't even get Dec comped which is the easiest month to get comp rates

i want to add more context and say i only had two gaming days this year and did not do any trips prior to that during the entirety of covid. In that 2 day trip i was diamond in two days. primarily slots. but a no play day would represent 33% of my average. and i believe i used RCs at a gift shop on another day

@romeocasido this gets me thinking whether I should reconsider my plan of staying and playing at an MGM property during a CET Great Gift Wrap weekend. I was planning to book a room starting Sunday at CET, but on Saturday logging onto a kiosk to get the GGWU code to order on-line. My plan was then to cancel my room reservation. I hoped not to trigger a "gaming day."

I hate that now one needs to book a room to be eligible for CET's GGWU shopping when I did not need to do so up to 2019.
