Just get the damn Real ID people! There’s so many other meaningful things to make your “stand” on!

Got mine 5 years ago! It was time to renew my D/L in 2014, and I received a letter in the mail telling me about the Real ID. All I had to do was sign the paper and bring it with me and got my Real ID. Easy peasy! It didn't cost any extra, so I figured what the heck? SOOO glad I did that!!!!! LOL!!!

With the new-look license I now have two creepy-looking pics on my license.

My pic is much less flattering than the tastefully-captured mug of Mr. Sample here...

So if this is Real ID what have I been carrying for all these years? Fake ID?

    Apparently so.

And if it expired, it does not even qualify as a fake id. Pretty much says you are gone.... LOL!

My DL expires next year (IL licenses are only good for 4 yrs), but I have a passport card that I use for domestic travel so I really don't need a Real ID drivers license. Although since they're charging the same renewal rate for either, I may as well get the Real ID one when the time comes.

My license had expired last month. Not able to renew online. So after 2 hours and $95 later I got an enhanced license. So now I'm all set for their October 2020 date or whenever they decide to actually enforce it.

They still haven't rolled them out here in NJ. I'll carry my passport if necessary but I'd rather not.

My strategy for beating the lines is to arrive within the last half hour they're open. It's funny how much faster things get handled when it's about to be quitting time.
