Jim and I checked into NYNY around 11:00 am on Sunday and our room wasn't ready so they gave us a complimentary upgrade to a park ave deluxe. Corner room of course. Our windows faced the castle on one side and the MGM on the other. and the rollercoaster right outside our windows. How fun and noisey was that? We had 2 queen beds would have preferred a king, but it will do for only 1 night. The check in went smooth as we were instructed to use the VIP services.
After bringing our things to our room and settling in for all of 10 minutes, we decided to go and spin a few and get some points on our cards. We first ate lunch at the America Cafe. the food was good and we of course had a line pass which brought us up to the front of this long line and we got alot of evil looks.
then hit the casino about 1:00 till 4:30. and never during that time were either of us offered any drinks. I find this to be a problem at MGM properties. ALL...of.... them...
So stopped at the bar and got a $7.00 glass of wine and went up to the room to change for our dinner and concert. We ate at Il Forniao it is italian and the food was wonderful and the service was too. The coffee they have there is out of this world good. Then off to the concert.
I got 4 tickets in the VIP section and we were 10 feet from the stage. The other 2 a girlfriend bought and she was going to use them for her and her husband. Well this other couple sat next to us. we asked where they got those tickets and they said ticketmaster
well we looked at their tickets and they had the last 4 digets of our visa card on them that I used to purchase the tickets. so my "former" girlfriend sold them for a profit. If I would have known that I could have sold them for a profit too and made enough for Jim and I to go for free.. witch.. That made us both soooo mad
I still haven't decided what to do about that situation and the screwing she did.
Anyway the concert was great, Prince is a top performer and very energetic. After the concert we trammed back to NYNY and did some more spinning till 2:00 am and still no drinks were offered. by now I was steaming and I found a server and she told me her shift was done and she would have the next girl come right away. this made me even more mad. All I wanted was a bottle of water. Jim was so thirsty we went into the america cafe and bought him an ice tea at the bar in there and he drank it down in 2 seconds. Got up on Monday and went to check out with the slot hostess and we had our room, and meals all comped. cheap night
Then did some more spinning and won some $$ and still no drinks were offered. I seen the waitresses swarming around the tables and $1. slots, but, evidently they don't seem to be concerned about us penny and nickle players. Left there and went to Ceasars to buy Jim some aftershave and did some spinning there too. I was loosing and then I played the american bandstand nickle machine and walked away with $110.00 with a $10. investment. amen I needed that.
Then left there and went to the Rampart Casino (ie JW Marriot) in Summerlin close to our home and had the buffet as we had a 2-4-1 there and it wasn't crowded at all. Food there is really good. it is worth the drive. after dinner we did some spinning and I played the money storm and won again $60.00 with a $10. investment. so we decided it was time to go home and check on the cats and go to bed. Everything I won. made up for what Jim lost.
All in all we had a nice 2 days together as it has been awhile since we did that.
Went today and got our Rod Stewart tickets and this time I only bought 2, so nobody can screw me again.
Final thoughts.
Vegas is full of takers and givers.
Jim and I are givers, and my former friend is a taker.
Thank you for your time reading this.
