Ok, we leave TOMORROW!!! We have LOVED GR Burger but want to try something new. I want a sit down with a server, not a walk up and order place. We have gone to Burger Brasserie and used to like that but don't want to do again either and have seen recent bad reviews. Last year, we went to Holsteins. Everyone gave rave reviews about it. I didn't think it was anything special BUT it was on the day we flew in from Atlanta, I had been drinking ALL day and it was probably 3am EST by the time we ate so that could have been the problem. :) But, don't want to go there again either.

Anyway, I have been perusing all of the burger threads and lots of recommendations for Burger Bar and Fatburger. We have never been to either. I can't tell if either is a walk up place- it looks like FatBurger is (again we don't want that). I love different kinds of fries like garlic herb or some yummy cheese concoction besides just having a great burger so those are my two requirements. I don't want milkshakes. Just beer. :) So, anything you love on the strip with great fries and burgers? And do either Burger Bar or Fatburger fit my requirements?

We are doing Gordon Ramsey steak one night, downtown one night and want to do a GREAT burger one night and will wing our fourth night. Please help me.

    Thank you!

    Justine

downtown you might want to try 777 brewpub at MSS. Burgers are good and they have garlic fries. Under $10. Several microbrews including seasonal. While downtown Banger brewery has several interesting microbrews and you can watch the "large" people get on the scale for Heart Attack Grill (which I do not recommend )

We ate at Fatburger's a couple of times. It's counter order, and tasty. My idea of acceptable burgers - other than the ones on my grill - are more or less limited to something akin to Five Guys. We put Burger Brasserie in the perpetual rear view mirror. To me, there's a balance between what I'm gonna pay for a hamburger and the product. I have never, ever, in my life eaten a hamburger that warrants a string of superlatives (based solely on product, not atmosphere, occasion, etc.). I can't cost justify dropping a twenty-dollah bill on a burger and fries.

Fatburger is good, and we'll probably be there again.
    But ultimately, it's a hamburger.

Do they have Shake Shack's where you're from? There's one near Monte Carlo and NYNY.

We've had consistently great burgers at Wolfgang Puck's Bar and Grill at the MGM.

We have actually eaten at 777 before! It was very good but we wanted to find a burger place on the Strip and eat at Pizza Rock when we are downtown!

I've gotta stick with Holstein's for a great burger and the poutine - and beer aplenty - however I prefer the milkshakes

I have to recommend Grand Lux inside Venetian for their burger! In addition the B&B inside Venetian is also superior to most sit down burger places. You will not be disappointed in either of these places.

I will try the new burger place inside Mirage called LVB on my next trip. You may want to give that a shot.

That was KGB Burger that closed. Great place BTW.
Toby Keith's I Heart This Bar and Grill is still open and doing well.
I love their wings more than anything else.

Another vote for Burger Bar here. Love their Hangover Burger, comes with steak fries, and they offer a couple of different dipping sauces for fries which I like. I'm fairly certain I went there based on ukfanatic's recommendation a year or two ago.

I'm also a huge fan of Umami at SLS. Would recommend either the Hatch or the Manly burger. Sweet potato fries or the cheesy tots. Very easy to get to with the monorail.

Holsteins, Holsteins, Holsteins. It has ruined all other burgers for us. Just make sure to go with the chef's choice on cooking, medium, or at most, medium well.

I have tried the fun-ghi, the steakhouse, the Gold Standard and the Big Fat Greek. The steakhouse is my favorite, followed by the fun-ghi.

It still stands as the best burger I've had in my life, and a good burger to me is one of life's most satisfying treats. :)

I am so confident in you loving the burger, if you dont, it's on Geogran! :wink2::rolleyes:

Ok, maybe it's not on Geogran if you don't love it, but for me, its "when Harry met Sally" good, and I don't even like that movie!

PS, I think it's also important to note many burgers in Vegas come ala carte, no fries. Holstein's is half a pounder WITH fries, and they're great fries. Not greasy, and instead crisp outside, soft inside...jut great fries.
