Trips to Las Vegas

Planning a trip in June. Wife wants to see the Backstreet Boys (yeah, I know, we're under 40's). I told her that it's going to be rather hot. We've been accustomed to being there in December when it's cold. Do I talk her out of it, or make do with the heat?

Not doubt its going to be hot but ...........If Wife wants to see THE BACKSTREET BOYS then GO.......... cause if MOMMA AINT HAPPY AINT NOBODY HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our main trip is over the summer June to august (between dates) kicking and lounge by the pool is half of the fun in Vegas!! Yeah it does get hot but coming from Midwest where is humidity can be a killer so dry heat is just perfect for us;yes it does get over 100 degrees. But still love the summer in Vegas.

I got married in July, in Vegas, outside. It was 92. Friends got married in Ohio two weeks before and it was 98 with 70% humidity. And theirs was an outdoor wedding. Ours was cool compared to that.

I love the heat. If Vegas could be July all year round I'd be happy.

I was just there in early June. It was HOT. Heat warnings. But the heat did not bother me at all as there is no humidity to be concerned about (especially compared to Chicago). I would definitely go again in June. It got to about 120 with the heat index, but even then, you could hardly tell or feel the "burn". You'll feel more burn from losing big at the tables than you would outside! Just drink plenty of fluids and you'll be fine! Hope this helps.

Mid Strip is mot so bad if you plan your walking agenda. You can basically go from Cromwell to Flamingo in a few steps outside
Then, walk inside Flamingo all the way till it ends at MargaritaVille. A few steps to the Linq and walk inside to Carnival Court and short distance to Harrah's. Walk inside Harrah's to the exit by McDonald's. A few steps to Casino Royale and you're inside for a half block. Then, it's the longest walk outside to Venetian/Palazzo. The other side of the Strip is not as simple. But, from Caesars to Mirage. you can go through the Forum Shoppes and it's a fairly short distance to the closest Mirage entrance. Anything with less convenience, I would go Uber.

Hot but manageable. As others have said, lots of kiddo's in the summer.

Plan your outdoor walking/activities for mornings or evenings and stay seriously hydrated (water, gatorade, haha); for extended time in the afternoon sun - sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, chapstick and more water.
Take advantage of the pool if that is your thing.

Have a great time!

I did June a couple years ago, it was second half of June. It was very very hot, but extremely dry. Lots of chapstick, hand cream, sun screen needed. I remember seeing 115 degrees out there even around 4-5 PM. The last two years, I went in April and it was great weather, except a little cool for the pool. I think the best months in Vegas are May and Sep.

it's hot in June - but so what? It's Vegas! just drink lots of water and if you walk the strip duck into every other casino and cool off....

  • Vegas Trip #63!!!
I guess the question comes down to how you deal with typically low-humidity heat and what you plan to do. That's the bottom line. Plus, it is irrelevant if someone says 90 and another says 110s because that's a typical span for the Mojave once summer starts up and what someone else experienced at one point in time isn't predictive. Cars, public transit, casino-hotels, restaurants ... it's all air conditioned. When we lived in a desert environment I didn't really worry about teeing it up into triple-digits. Now five-plus years at the coast ... no thank you.

It's not as hot in the beginning of June and not really to bad for kids with school out{let's face it, most schools are now year round} as it will be in mid June to end of Sept. Except for this next trip in first week of June, I like May and Oct. The heat is just starting and just starting to slow down. Not outsise other then to get to another casino.

Its not "ball soup" hot but its "why the F did I come in June hot."

After a day, I get use to it. Stay hydrated and bring chapstick...thats all you really need to do.

After dealing with Wisconsin in December, January, February, and March...
June in Vegas is perfect!
(But I don't forget to drink water!)

I've gone in early June and it wasn't bad. Low to mid 90's. I've also been in both July & August. Highs of about 115 every day. When they say it's a dry heat, that's bull shit in 115. It was like sticking your head in an oven. But if you spend enough time by the pool and casinos it's not so bad. If it's hot when you go in June just remember lots of water, especially if you're drinking. Have fun. You're a better husband than me. No way am I sitting through Backstreet Boys. Although I did sit through Celine Dion twice. Things we do for our wife's lol.

Average high at McCarran in June is 95F, low 75F (89/70 on June 1st, 103/79 on June 30th).

Last year I went in early April and it rained all weekend and never got over 70. That sucked. Bring on the heat.

  • With a pre-gaming night at NYNY beforehand
Vegas in June is hot...It's something I like as I can't stand winter, but everyone is different!
