So, I was planning a longer trip to Vegas (Thursday - Monday), but ended up having to deal with a bunch of work meetings that were placed on my calendar the week I get back. Thus, it was wiser for me to come back home early and recover for the week -- I have a work review in May!

Given that I ALWAYS have the post-Vegas drag, I think limiting the vacation to two days will help me out. The crappy part is I had to cancel my comp room and limo ride at the Venetian for a room that I have to pay for at Planet Hollywood -- and take a cab lol.

So that's where you all come in. I think moving to Planet Hollywood was a wise decision given how much livelier it is relative to the other casino. Now the question is, what the hell do I do? I want to gamble a little, but I need to know what places on that side of the strip I should visit for lunch and dinner on Thursday and breakfast, lunch and dinner on Friday. As well, what activities should I squeeze in?!

If I win at least $1,000, I'm definitely going for the $777 burger. I do like Martorano's so I might go there for Thursday's dinner. Lunch has me torn...was thinking Five50 pizza for lunch. Any way, suggestions welcome. I'm open in terms of cuisine.

Looking forward to the forum helping me out. Wewt, Vegas in 19 hours!

The best breakfast experience in Vegas is mon ami Gabi. At Paris. Sit outside on the strip watching the Vegas world walk by at 8 or 9 or 10 in the morning is a must do for every trip of mine.

You're only there for 2 days. Why do you even need a room?

I've only eaten there a couple times, but I've always liked the Strip House in PHo, if I'm dining alone.

If table for one not possible you could sit at the bar. Not quite the same but when not eating you can always spin around to drink in the view.

I'm about to do this in 10 days for my birthday, too. Fly in Monday night, have all day Tuesday, fly out Wednesday afternoon. Haven't done a short trip like this in years, so my plan is...not to plan. No reservations, no shows, I'm just going to wake up, pick a direction and see where the day takes me.

I'll do this occasionally when dining alone, both in Las Vegas and elsewhere. The service is often much quicker at the bar. I never feel awkward.

It seems like the free days in Las Vegas that I enjoy most are the ones where I don't have any definite plans and just go with the flow. Play somewhere, move on, listen to a band, move on, get something extremely unhealthy for dessert, play a bit more, browse some shops, move on ...

Next month we are taking our shortest trip to Vegas flying in Friday and out Monday. We are also there for the weekend which we usually avoid because of the crowds. PHO is our home casino and we really enjoy BurGR and always visit EOS. Pinup Pizza is great for a quick bite and to catch a game in the sports book. Martorano's is on my list for next month.

Will be doing a short 2.5 day swing through the city myself, pending traffic out of SLC Sunday morning, fly out back the Midwest 8AM Wednesday. No plans, just waking up, and seeing where the day rolls. (Hopefully hitting a lot of craps points)

You know...that'd be about the only way that's gonna happen for me. My winnings are such that the casino's money picks up the tab for dinner.
You might wanna just avoid planning anything in particular and letting "the strip come to you".
