I've lost 60 pounds since Feb so I'm planning on a major cheat week with eating and drinking while on vacation. I can survive putting a few pounds on (knowing i'll be strict again when I get home) but I'm scared i'll end up being sick the entire trip after the first "bad" meal.

Last year I gained around 7 pounds on my trip.

Yuck, sounds like a lot of work (and starving). And no white carbs, no processed or fast food or fried foods? Man, that is a killer for me.

thanks for the info, guess there is no real easy way to lose weight.

Went for 4 nights in July this year and came home roughly the same weight (within daily variation). I had lost 40lbs this spring by watching carbs and walking but a few weeks before the trip I started eating more carbs so my body would be used to them, as someone had mentioned I didn't want to have any digestive issues while in Vegas. I had not been walking often but did go a couple of times before the trip to get used to it. It helped, as we averaged over 6 miles per day (as measured by the wife and kids iPhones) while there and my endurance was much higher. I no longer had to stop for a break in the course of our daily activities. Our eating in Vegas is a big breakfast, snacks for lunch, and then a reasonable dinner. We did do one buffet dinner this trip.

Probably eat less there than home but drink way too much.
    Usually gain 3-4 lbs.
Then I have Grey Goose pouring out of me for 48 hours when I get home.

I usually lose a few lbs. I eat healthier and sometimes I forget to eat. According to my iPhone 6 health app I walked 103 miles during my latest eight day trip earlier this month.

You are correct there is no easy way to lose weight and it is a bit of work, but I don't think I ever felt starved. The no white carbs was hard for me, I am Italian and love pasta, but I just found other foods or on occasion (on work out day) I would have a single portion as stated on the package. I would say the average portion of pasta that people eat is really 3-4 servings.

I changed my eating habits as I want to keep the wait off.

Good luck. Sometime just run the food you eat for a few days through My Fitness Pal because you may be surprised by the numbers.

No more than 8 pounds but its probably mostly liquid weight because most of it is gone within a few days.

Nothing. I have come back 2-3 lbs lighter from each trip. A lot of walking, and my appetite gets really low in warm weather. Also, doing something all the time helps.

We eat breakfast and dinner buffets, plus drink, and I for one don't hold back. On a 7 day trip I usually gain 8 pounds. This year over the last two months I've lost 8 pounds. I'll drop another 2 pounds before our trip in 10 days. If I stay the course in Vegas I'll net a 2 pound loss. :peace:

I think I come back about even. I usually don't eat near as much while I'm in Vegas. Maybe a good breakfast, and smaller dinner. Who has time to eat while there's gambling to do? :D

Easily 5 pounds in Vegas. But the bigger problem is that I tend to stay in "vacation mode" for a week or two afterward. So the 5 tends to easily shift to over 10 :(

I typically add a few pounds. I attribute it to the amount of alcohol I consume and a few too many trips to In-and-Out!

Nothing while there. Actually lose weight there. The walking keeps me safe while there.

    However...

I gain a good 5 lbs when I get home because my body wants a steady supply of food like in Vegas. Of course I'm in recovery slug mode when I get home. Bad combo.

I'm hoping to alter that pattern next time.

I had been on a bit of a diet before going to Vegas this last time (just got back last night). Down nearly 30lbs from June to now... (no fast food, no soda, no alcohol, etc.) 4 days in Vegas of very little sleep, eating like crap, and drinking like a fish. I weighed myself this morning and I gained 6lbs back over those 4 days.
