Speaking with my wife this weekend, we were discussing how many trips we will plan to make to LV in 2025. I will end 2024 with 2 unexpected trips to Vegas, and likely will take fewer trips in the new year, due to some other family events (destination weddings).
If I lived closer, I’d probably go once a month from Dec 2024-April 2025 to use my free Knights tickets from CET. But since it’s damn near a feat in itself to get there from where I live, I’m hoping for at least two trips, late January & then later in the year.
I already have plane reservations for the first 2, Jan and Feb. Trying to decide if I’ll do March instead of May, would like to take my niece to Maroon 5, but those shows are too close to either my Feb. Vegas trip or April Florida trip, so either March or May. Then my high school friend wants to see Rod Stewart, so that’s first weekend of June. My bday trip is in July, and I have a working thing at Caesar’s in either July or Aug. Hubby and I always do a trip in September or October, then a trip in Dec with my sister. Ooohhh, that could be 8! The most I’ve done is 7, I think I’ve done 7 twice.
Let’s see: January for an NFL playoff weekend, currently in planning stages—we’ll see how much I lose (or win!) this next weekend; March for the first week of the college basketball tournament; August for my usual trip during the Saratoga and Del Mar horse racing meets; Thanksgiving with my sister; and probably another visit somewhere in there, depending on sporting events or concerts—interested to see who plays the Sphere next year after The Eagles.
Well, my upcoming trip starts in late December and ends in early January, so I'll count that as the first one of 2025 as I'll be in Vegas for the first 4 1/2 days of the new year. I'll definitely be back in April, which is when I have typically taken a long annual trip solo or with my mother. That will likely be 10 days (2 weekends and a full week in the middle) and will include my third trip to Zion and Bryce Canyon national parks. What would normally be a long Vegas trip for my birthday in August will now be a mega Iceland/Greenland cruise that starts and ends in Southampton so I hope to be able to add a day or two on the front end in London. I also have a holiday/Christmas/New Years 2025 Caribbean cruise booked on the Star Princess (a brand new ship that will go in service in 2025), so no Vegas next NYE unless I change my mind about the cruise, which is possible. I am finding I enjoy cruising most when the cruise is associated with places I haven't yet visited as opposed to places that I have (like the Caribbean). But in addition to the two Vegas trips noted above, I'm likely to take a Vegas trip (maybe 5 days) just before or during July 4th weekend as well as Thanksgiving weekend, which I didn't do last year to be with family (thank goodness) and that I'm not doing this year (to spend extra time with my dad and godmother and take care of family business) but that I always enjoyed. So in 2025, I'll likely have two long trips and likely two trips that are 3-5 days in length. If I get a great offer for a slot tournament or great experience, I might add a short weekend trip, or two, for those experiences. That's still a lot of Vegas but in terms of days much less than I historically visited pre-pandemic and in 2021 and 2022.
History would say at least 10 so I voted over 4. However I’m now semi-retired and have to be somewhat smart with money. I think it will end up being less total trips than normal but the trips will be longer. I’m planning to be in the Vegas area off and on from mid January to late February. I’m assuming I’ll be there in May for my birthday as well. I’m sure a mid summer trip and at least one in the fall, plus at least one other “why not” trip.
After Milton, we MIGHT get in one trip sometime next spring or pushed down to autumn. The next four to six months have the potential to be very labor/fiscal intensive, so that is a factor.
If I make my scheduled December trip, it will be 5 this year. The ONLY reason that has gone up from my normal 3-4 is because of Avelo airlines flying out of Salem. It's just too damn easy. Next year could be even worse. One of my friends who plays just retired.
I always plan for 2 trips/year (Spring and Fall), but I'm also a firm believer in Murphy's Law. Hopefully, nothing will interfere with my 2025 plans. I didn't do my usual Spring trip this year, since I had some unexpected dental work done which may also mess up my early December plans as well, if my dentist can't complete the work in time, so we'll see.
We have 0 trips planned for 2025. We bought property in Hoodsport WA, so our vacation time is going to be remodeling the house and getting it ready for when we retire in 2 years. We will probably do a couple of weekend trips when we get the itch.
So let’s see so far I have January for the mgm slot finally, February for the international builders show so far…… it’s still early to plan but I’m going to try to cut it down to 6 times in 2025 we will see lol
Probably one or none. March Madness group renting a house in Scottsdale instead of vegas, so i might just go in the summer. It's lost the appeal a little, and with my oldest starting college in the fall need to lower my expenses.
For 2024 I really wanted to experience every month in Vegas vs my usual quarterly trips. So far Ive kept good on that resolution but next year I think I’ll skip a few of those months and reduce to 6.
First off, I think your poll bins probably skew a little low for this crowd. I plan on between five and ten Vegas trips in 2025 - I can’t know for sure because of life and work uncertainties.
I put it at 0. BTW, every year I planned to have 0 trip for next year. Of course, when the new year comes, the old plan is no longer valid.
Probably not many next year. I have my super bowl trip planned, a quick stopover day trip while on my way to other places, and the fam and I are starting to plan a July visit. But that may be it. Even though the past year has been relatively successful on the gambling front, I have definitely reached the Vegas burnout level. We are definitely planning a lot more beach than desert next year
I voted “3” but I am hoping for 4. January, some Spring visit, and def Halloween 2025 since I was cheated out of Halloween this year My summer visit buddy is getting a knee replacement in June so I don’t know if our usual August trip will happen.
