Only 1 LV trip booked in 2020.
    April - 2 weeks.
No/low roll. The burning bridges tour.

    Going other places this year.
    Buying 3 new cars.

2021 will likely have 1 short LV trip or possibly even no LV trip!
Going on a long overseas trip and visiting multiple countries.

I realise that I am working of a very limited sample (you) of Vegas degens, and not the whole Vegas trippers, so big pinch of salt required. But can I ask.....

I remember reading the opinions on here of the likes of PGP and now MgM2020. You still came. Now there seems to be more of an across the board (but admittedly green shoots limited) fatigue of visiting (for a wide variety of reasons).

Now in a few years time, when the US is in Trumps second term, and the Economy tanks is (as it inevitably will, we are way overdue by several measures a US economic recession), assuming Vegas spends falls (who knows with trust funders etc), so the casinos ‘give the house away’ (if they need to given how gaming is going relatively) and Induce you back in with significantly higher comps/more hard comps/bigger more available discounts etc, do you think that would ‘reenergise’ you to return more often again? Or have you just ‘been there done that, got more experiences to explore as some have noted’ and no matter what inducements the casinos may offer, your plans may not change?

clearly you will not know until if happens, but I am just curious about whether casinos saying help folks, “have a better suite, more spa time for the wife, more fp/fb/rfb, more accessible discounts for more gamblers, etc, could get you to reflect and place Vegas above those other places again?

For me, I am still thinking that while I would love to visit Vegas, I am more I think more likely (if I was playing slots) to visit Reno, purely because the gamble is better in terms of being half the house edge than Vegas, with Vegas being a place to see the shows, eat the food, visit the museums, kids at the clubs, etc. Clearly if I was playing tables that changes things given the same HE. But how much would ‘a noticeably better gamble for the player’ likely ‘reinvourise’ you to place Vegas above all those other places again?

I am being nosey, but you never know some casino. Exec may read your responses and reflect on it.

    Probably only one trip.

I say probably because I'm worried that the professional development budget will be cut at work due to possible loss/cut back of government funding. There are other areas that would get cut first, but if the cuts are as deep as my boss is worried about then I'm worried that professional development also takes a hit. I'm not worried about the cuts like my boss is. I don't think they'll happen, but it's his job to worry about those possibilities and plan for them and make management aware of potential outcomes.

If we don't get cuts, then maybe my boss lets me go to two or three conferences in Vegas! ...no, I haven't been drinking but I can certainly see why anyone would think so.

At least one, maybe 2. Thinking of taking a cruise in the spring so that may take the place of a Vegas trip, or may just do a shorter spring trip instead of the usual 5 or so nighter and then hit a longer one in the fall.

Deux. Going for 13 days in July and then at least 10 over Xmas. Possibly another trip for a few days in October for my birthday.

I keep waiting for the moment when I get tired of Vegas but after all these years the thrill has not waned.

    :peace:

I just made what may be my last visit to the Hard Rock this year and forever. Remember they're closing for 8 months after the Super Bowl for construction and rebranding to Virgin. I may just wait until late 2020 for the next visit to town and the property, though I'll likely make a couple visits and stay at Cosmo or check out the Sahara. In any event, it's not like the old days of once a month, but now that I've retired I just don't have the reasons to go as frequently.

Have a January trip booked already. Definitely going in February and April but haven’t booked anything yet.

Not sure about the rest of the year but would guess 4-6 additional trips.

    1-4.
it all depends on how good or bad I do on my previous trip.

If I come out ahead I usually book a trip pretty much the day I return home.
If I am down $1000 or less, I will usually plan a trip after 4-6 months.
If I come home with nothing left, then I don't book another trip till I forget about the sting :p

I've made 13 trips so far this year (probably 2 more before the year is over). I expect to make at least the same amount of trips next year.

I just finished trip #3 for the year and have 1 more scheduled in December. I'm sure I'll go once or twice in 2020, but I might fill in with some local trips. Depends on what goes on around here. We're planning to move next year, so that may keep me pretty busy.
