Hi, I'll be staying at the Four Queens in February but want to do some gambling at the El Cortez. I just had spine surgery and my walking limit is not great. Can I walk it or should I take a cab or Uber? Thanks!

I'd agree. Less than 1/2 mile. About 3 downtown blocks. Probably walkable if you can walk the length of FSE.

probably less walking than you would do in a strip mega-resort. depending on your level of pain/tolerance you will probably be ok. worst case, walk there, if you find that it is unbearable, catch a ride back. speedy recovery to you!!

The El Cortez is not really that far from 4Q's. Maybe a 10 minute steady walk. If you can walk from 4Q's to the Plaza, you can make it to the El Cortez. The distance is comparable.

It just depends on how far you can walk after having spine surgery. The fact that you're heading to Vegas is a testament to how mobile you are. So just a word of caution. While the distance may be just about equal, the amenities are not.

While walking from 4Q to the Plaza, there are spots to stop and sit a while if need be. You could pop into Binions or Golden Gate.

If you're walking to the El Cortez, there are no casinos to pop into if you need a rest. It's a straight 10-15 minute walk. Just an FYI if that's important.

From everything I've read about Uber on here (but never having used it myself), I'd say it sounds like a good choice. We took a cab one time from El Cortez to MSS and while I can't remember the cost, I do remember it was worth it :)

Well, if each block is 1/10 of a mile 4Q is at 3rd Street and the El Cortez is on 6th Street.
