The appearance isn’t so much what I’m concerned about... it’s the feel. Any room can be dressed up to look nice, but I’m asking more about the stay experience, anecdotally.

We stayed there in August and the rooms are good size have very comfy beds and have a fridge there is also a laundry on the third floor and the café snaps is really good and we have enjoyed gaming there we like the music and the general casino vibe.. We have stayed ESC many times in the last few years and really like it but boyd has cut out a lot of the things we liked about it and it does seem like they are moving toward closing it. We have also stayed at SAMS TOWN and the rooms are better at ESC, we are staying at ESC next week nov 18,19, on a comp also at the skyline on nov 23. We will be doing a live trip report so we will have updates on the ESC also we have pic's and reports from august 2018 and nov 2017 that include the ESC.

Some days I noticed it's been busier. Them other days so quiet .Boyd has really messed it up. Like they always do. The deli was busy. Good food .Sam's town deli is no good in comparison. I even liked the buffet better at ESC. Many people might disagree .

As far as closing .I'm not so sure. The front desk staff got new uniforms a few months ago . They have even hired new staff . I do wonder about the player card though. ESC is much better point wise.

Used to stay there and loved the rooms. The food options are a wasteland however. I read a while back that they closed the buffet, the steakhouse and the deli, leaving only Snaps coffee shop which is not top notch. The website offers it and two restaurants from Sam's, which in my opinion doesn't bode well for the property. Personally, I like to eat on property or walk a short distance (as in DT) for dinner. I don't want to drive and walk the distance to and from Sam's for dinner. Others may not mind, but even if I didn't mind, I would prefer the option of on site food choices.

    Good Luck!

Stayed there last weekend and used $20 trick to get corner suite. Well worth it. My wife comes out with me every 10 years and EC is her preferred spot.

If I was to stay again at EC I would walk across the street for the café at the Longhorn before walking to Sam's town.
No food options is going to slowly drain the casino. Rooms are nice but doubt many will stay without other things
    around and a fun casino

I used to really like EC, but now I find it kind of depressing. As others have said, they have closed all the restaurants except for the cafe, and when we ate there, it took a very long time for service. The servers were working very hard, but as our server told us, they have cut back on the staff and essentially are frequently short handed. We were there over a week-end, so maybe during the week, it might be different. I spoke to several employees who work in various areas at the EC, and many were fearful for their jobs. I have the upmost respect them--it has to be difficult to come to work not knowing what to expect from day to day. I never understood why Boyd's acquired the EC--it's a shadow of it's former self.

I noticed that too, and this might be the most pathetic thing any casino has done as far as dining for customers. If Sam's were across the parking lot, that would be one thing, but the idea to list restaurants at Sam's Town as being Cannery East dining options, when they are one half mile away is ridiculous!
