I agree with this list, except I would add that Bellagio, Aria, and Wynncore always have security as well. Not sure why the OP listed Cosmo. They do not have elevator security

On our last few trips, we had to insert our room key into the elevator. Somebody else could have gotten on with us of course, but..

Glad you took the right angle on this post. My only thought was, "what is this person trying to pull?" lol I need to be less cynical...

Plaza does as well, at least the bank of elevators right off the casino floor

I agree with zolar. Too easy to get a hotel card key. In fact I saw a number of hotel room cards at the airport, guess people were leaving and just dumped them or left them on a seat at the airport.

It's funny that the security is tighter at the pool at MB than to the floors to the rooms. At the pool during season they have security that checks your room key and your room key has to be active (you are staying at the hotel) for you to enter the pool area. Guess more chance of people sneaking into the pool area than to the floors to the rooms.

El Cortez tower elevators require you to insert your room key for it to go to that floor. But coming down it doesn't require the room key. Trying to remember, I think the GN had a security person at the entrance to the elevator checking card keys.

Unfortunately this is only for show (security guard at the Plaza elevators) because you can go up the escalator to the third floor (same floor as the bingo room) and can catch the elevators to both towers any time of day or night. No security guard at those entry areas to the elevators.

Have only ever encountered security staff at elevators in Luxor, many years ago, and Excalibur! Never at Caesar's Palace, TI, Ballys, Stratosphere , MGM Grand, Tropicana.

Can confirm that Cosmo has no security at the elevators.....this is for the West End (or Chelsea Tower as they call it now).

Cosmo used to require the key in the elevator for any floor. Now, that function is rarely turned on (except for the penthouse floors). I was there two weeks ago and didn't need the key to get to my floor

Something I forgot to mention at SLS. Not only do they have a security person looking at the keys, the elevator has to be opened by swiping the key by the elevator call button.

The only place I ever saw that REALLY checked things was at the old Stardust West Tower. The security guy (a "suit" type) had a little desk with a key card reader. He would scan it each time. Expired key meant no entry.

This made a point! I actually like having someone looking after security to the rooms. Since I am paying x room price, resort fees, parking fees and tighter gaming. The least they could do is keep us from getting attacked in our room. I am not paying if I get killed!

Interesting. In my many stays at The Hotel there was always someone checking at the elevators. Sad they don't do that anymore.

Interesting- 3 stays @ Mirage and I was never checked. Seems like I did have to insert my card to access Tower Suite floor though.

It's funny - only place other than Bellagio that I had to show a key card was Sahara lol.

At a CET hotel ???Kansas City maybe?? I had to insert key card & it would only activate if I pushed button for appropriate floor. I think though that once it was activated the people for the other floors getting on did not have to insert theirs-can't remember that for sure.
