Hotel Safe or Safe Deposit box rental?

Been to Vegas many times but never used anything but the safe in the room. Seems like I have read however about other safe rental options. Will be there later this year on what is mostly a Grand Canyon trip but with days in Vegas before and after we go to the canyon. Would just as soon not take my gambling bankroll to the Grand Canyon - and my wife would probably prefer to leave some jewelry as well. Is it possible to rent a box at a strip hotel to store valuables for a few days until we return to Vegas? Will likely be staying at a CET property - most likely Bally's. Any input on which properties might have this option would be helpful? Do you get access through the concierge or do you go to the casino cage?

2 questions are u piggy backing the same hotel on the trip like ballys grand canyon back to ballys they probaly will let u leave it in there
if not just leave it in there dont tell them give them a later check out and come back for it otherwise there policy is its only good for the time your at the hotel as a guest and there free

notsure how much cash there places in vegas that u can leave money but i travel all the time across the country with a few grand and never worry about it.
also how bout amerian express travel checks or just cash a check as need or set up a credit line

We have never used the front desk boxes. We have been know to have $5k in the room, plus computers or tablets. Often, but not always use the safe in the room. You probably should NOT follow my advice and instead lock it up.

We also never do room cleaning. Sign on the door and pick up after ourselves.

Are those room safes 100% reliable? Nope. Have read a few stories, but they are very, very rare.
