NYNY rooms are a little on the small side, but most have been refurbished recently. I really like NYNY - easy to navigate casino, good restaurants, great location. I've stayed there my last three trips and am heading back in October.

If you're looking for a good location on a lower end budget, I'd check some of the non-MGM properties mid-strip, to avoid the extra hidden resort fees. Check out Ballys, Flamingo, Bills, PH... some of these may have dated rooms but you'll get a great location and bang for the buck, especially if you subscribe to the "get a clean room since you only sleep in there" mentality about the room.

I have been in the Flamingo GO Rooms a few times. They are a little funky (i.e., the white vinyl, pink bathroom, etc.), but otherwise are nice and updated and have great views. Room rates are generally pretty fair for what you get. In addition, the Flamingo location is pretty tough to beat (although there currently is major construction at the IP and where O'Sheas used to be). Have fun wherever you decide!!

This question gets asked at least weekly. You can scroll down through the first few pages of posts for tons of suggestions.

But - it is very difficult for folks to advise without knowing a bit more. After all, there are people that love just about EVERY hotel on and off the strip. Will they all work for you? Hard to say.

Good news is you have already said to eliminate the high end hotels. Next would be - where will you play. What do you like to do each day/night. What shows are you headed to. Is shopping important - high or low end? Party, pool, atmosphere likes and dislikes?

Folks will fall all over themselves giving you answers, even if they do not know your likes and dislikes.

I have stayed at both NYNY and Flamingo, I like both. I didnt have a problem w the room size at NYNY as everyone states. The bathroom was huge, I stayed in a deluxe room with a view of the pool and the roller coaster. The coaster did not bother us a bit either! It was actually fun to watch

Keep in mind the resort fee at NYNY, it was a real kick to get hit with and extra $125 at check in!!

Need more info on who's going, what you like to do, if any of you have been before, etc. The more details you give us, the better information we give you.

If you are looking at Flamingo, and Bills I would check out Harrah's, always been a great clean place for us and not too much $$$, also center strip with is a plus.

We hate the bathroom configuration in the rooms at NYNY but tolerate it because we really like the casino and well as the number of places to eat.

Although we venture out and about during the day, we could actually spend all day inside NYNY as they have a good selection of games.

I have never been to Las Vegas and didnt have much to go on when I booked my trip and I picked the Luxor Hotel, knowing full well it is at ONE end of the strip, but I also realize I will not see the whole strip in just 5 days. Have fun, I know I will. Can't wait, oh so EXCITED.

With 5 days, you may well get to see most of the strip. We have been known to walk from Mandalay Bay all the way up to Mirage. And back.

We are going in February 2013...we can forget the really expensive hotels...I really have no interest in spending over $300 a night for a room...and we really are not that fancy...I have heard good things about NYNY so this is why I think they are at the top of my list.
