I seem to have mucked up my comps at the plaza so am looking for a new home. The hotel Apache seems cheap and has no resort fee. Are any of the rooms quiet? I'd hate to get blasted by Fremont street noise. I just need a basic room and hate resort fees. Anyone know?

I would not count on a quiet room there. They may exist, but those windows are very old and thin. If you're looking at basic and no resort fees, you're better off rolling the dice at 4Q and going for a south facing room.

Edit: Plaza seems more generous with back end comps than other properties imo. You may want to see what your casino rate would be and then see what a host can take off on the back end.

There are a few quiet rooms on the 3rd floor that overlook the roof. No guarantee whether you can get one.

When I stayed there we had a mixture of bowling in the duct work and ghosts running around on the floor all night causing noise. Fremont noise wasn't that bad on an interior room though.

@Drambler I've never had a loud room in my three stays at Hotel Apache. Frankly many of the room don't have windows that even allow sunlight so lots of quiet rooms facing inner brick or cement walls or fire escapes. Just skip the few rooms with windows overlooking Fremont street.

I'm not sure about that. Seems the ghosts kept knocking stuff off the shelves for one VMBer.

You also do not want a room that opens to Casino Center. I had one for 1 night before requesting a move. Never noticed noise in the interior rooms. YMMV

We stayed in a room one night when it first opened. I had to to say I find it!

I think we were on the second floor (one flight of stairs up, so first hotel floor with rooms), and we didn’t notice it was noisy.

However, it was really small just so you have a heads up. I don’t think I could have stayed longer as our room was really cramped. But maybe we got a bad room.

Has a gothic feel to me with pictures of the room, sorry want nothing to do with it! I would be willing to pay for a real room.

As previously mentioned, request a room overlooking the roof. The issue I've noticed is the A/C isn't the best....

I have stayed there several times and never had an issue with noise from Fremont street. They gave me a haunted room on my last trip (Aug 1st) but no noises or spooky stories to tell. Some of the a/c units can be louder than others but I never had a problem falling asleep. The rooms are big but the closets, depending on the layout can vary in size. The bathrooms are big but there is limited counter space which is a problem for some women. They are perfect for the single traveler.

Thanks for all the replies. Sounds good enough to me but may also look at 4 queens

The interior rooms are not noisy. The ghosts do knock stuff over though.

We stayed there and did not experience any noise issues however we did experience an unexplainable event. Around 2 amboth my wife and i were awake and I asked her if she had cashed a ticket in from the D that she had earlier. She said she did and then turned the light on and checked her purse. It was not there. She zipped the purse shut , set it on the nightstand and then shut the light off. about 5 minutes later there was this loud bang and when she turned the light on to see wtf all the contents of her purse were all over the floor as if someone unzipped it turned it upside down and shook it. She swears up and down she had zipped it shut. Weird

I'm at the Hotel Apache now on the 3rd floor. Hardly any noise at all.
