Last night did dinner at council oak. They claimed there were no tables and you needed a reservation 3 days out. Finally had to get a host involved and then magically I was able to eat. So if you come make reservations beforehand. Went back to the room and watched Nobody on demand via the tv. 19.99 plus tax before it gets comped off the room. It was better than I expected but a bit gory in certain parts. I couldnt find any popcorn in the hard rock store for the movie so I went with a mellow yellow and a black and white cookie from the constant grind.

Today is going to be a relaxing day by the pool before the afternoon rains come. The water is a good temperature so I think it's heated. The pool opened at 8 so it is still empty and quiet.

Are you just going to stay in Florida, or are you going to travel the country and explore casinos all over? If you’ve never been, you should try Biloxi.

    Thanks for the advice.

I am booked at the hard rock in Hollywood during the week, so far through mid July, to make it a stable work environment. On the weekends I am going to head out so still trying to figure out what to do this weekend. A buddy of mine is changing jobs so maybe I'll do a biloxi, NO, Lake Charles stop before making my way to Texas.

I'll end up making a decision at the last minute depending on what the weather looks like.

Also trying to figure out if I should go to Vegas for the opening of Resorts World or wait a week and go for the 4th.

Have you decided how long you’re going to stay “homeless”? Or are you going to play it by ear? Have you decided where you’ll eventually move to?

Maybe you can get them to comp some laundry or dry cleaning?

No plans yet. I'll end up renting a place in Miami eventually but not sure when.

That is a good idea. Has anyone tried it in the past?

Some laundry mats offer a Wash, Dry and Fold service. Usually they charge by the pound.

Not sure of your age but hopefully old enough that the house sale won’t affect you tax wise at all. We were lucky in that respect after we sold ours last year.

My husband keeps asking me where we can go & stay. I have to keep reminding him that I’m still working. And because so many people have quit I was forced to come back on-site.

    Can’t wait to read more!

Depending where you are in Texas, Denver is only a 8 hour drive (to Amarillo...the closest Whataburger to me!) and there are a few casino towns you might enjoy in CO.

Good luck on your adventure! If you do well enough, you can buy the casino/hotel and live there!

I know it seems odd but I like to keep my money. I'm a simple person and I cant see paying someone to do my laundry.

One of the reasons I sold my house was the concern over about Biden's tax plan. I am going to get hit with capital gains on the house and wanted to sell it as the speculation is the rate will increase. It wasn't a driving factor but definitely was a consideration.

Thanks for sharing I will check it out. What is the big local casino in the area?

I've never been to denver, other than driving though about 15 years ago. I drive straight from Boise to New Orleans in a day. I had a few cruise offer at Harrah;s New Orelans and only about 30 hours before the promotion expired......that was a really long day. This was before I knew that the cruise promotions were so common and I really wanted a free cruise. I just plotted that trip - there was a lot of driving and three speeding tickets,. Thankfully Waze was invented.

There are a few. Cripple Creek, CO is located just outside of Colorado Springs, and has several casinos.

Blackhawk, CO (and Central City, only a mile away) are an hour outside of Denver, and has 14 casinos within a few square miles, and Central City has another 4 or so. Monarch and Ameristar are probably the "biggest" and nicest ones, and if you're gonna "live" there, I'd recommend Monarch as they just recently finished their hotel.

Blackhawk/CC are sorta like downtown las vegas, where you can walk a few minutes to the next casino.

Find a pickup/ dropoff wash fluff n fold place. They charge by the pound and pretty much every one I used wrapped your folded clothes in plastic so you didnt technically even need a basket. In my early post college years living in a condo without a washer and dryer, this was my primary method of doing laundry. I'd imagine even using a resort laundry service might be cheaper than buying new clothes for every day, for sure if you're buying nice clothes.

As far as clothing, depending on dew point/humidity, I’ve washed out stuff in the bathroom sink or tub. Hang to dry in shower or tub. Touch up with iron if needed or use spray wrinkle reducer. Works great in Vegas. Didn’t work so well in Orlando when the hotel AC was broken lol !!!
