I have booked a unit at the Desert Club Resort on Koval (Holiday Inn Vacations) for F1 week this coming November 2026, but I have not been to the race before and have been reading up on how they try to restrict the view of the race for free.

It really looks based on the map that 2 sides of the resort would have a view of the track from the sidewalk, UNLESS they have stands erected there or tarps on the fence to block the view.

I have not decided on how to get tickets yet, but was wondering if anyone that has been at the race is familiar with the layout of the track and the stands in this location?

This is a view from apple maps, with a crude circling of the resort and the track layout:

That parking lot between the resort and the sphere is home to the T-Mobile grandstands. I have sat in those seats. Very tall - it will obstruct view. Attached is a quick stock photo off the internet

I have nothing to add to the question you actually asked... but please report back on how your stay goes at this place.

For a variety of reasons, I'm contemplating pivoting to timeshare resorts versus the casinos for Vegas travel... and this is one that has stood out to me.

  • Touring the Detroit Casinos Before Kenny Wayne Shepherd Concert @ Greektown
  • Laughlin then Vegas... Exact Details TBD (July 7 > ???)
IIRC Koval in front of those buildings had advertising banners above the safety barriers blocking the view
I'll see if I can come up with a photo

First time I will be at the Holiday Inn resort, but I will report back.

However, we have stayed at the Wyndham Grand Desert timeshare on Koval and Harmon many times and love it.

Nice units, great pool area and a nice location.

VERY pesky timeshare salesman, but just say no....

Holiday Inn timeshare was pretty run-down the one time we stayed there - about 10 years ago. If they haven't refurbished it since then, I'd hate to see what it looks like now. Nothing like Wyndham... We've been spoiled by the Hilton timeshares...
