Traveled to Vegas from Kansas City via SW Airlines from Monday May 17 til Friday 21st. It was a great trip. Highlights: --George Carlin (exceedingly funny; I was amazed at his fast paced humor which included him talking bout suicide, soccer moms, people who deserve to die, etc.). He was like a funny creative version of Rickles. -- Penn n Teller. Good show. Funny and good magic. --Howie Mandel. Very funny guy. Excellent, not as mean spirited as Carlin, just creative humor with a lot of audience participation too. --Blackjack at NY NY where we stayed. I got hot on almost every sit down session. I won about 100 bucks a crack on the 10 buck tables, playing for 3 or so hours at a time. Not bad considering the drinks were flowing. --Craps at Excaliber. Only place we could find on south end of strip with 5 buck craps tables. Cmon Vegas. 10 dollar craps is too expensive for normal people. Here 10 buck craps tables are half full and any place that had a five buck table was packed. Get a clue, Vegas. We didn't go into Trop, which probably also had 5 buck tables, but I don't like that place much. -- ESPN Zone has damn good bar food. The chicken sandwich for lunch was delectible with a baked pot. --The Golden Nugget is a fun place to play craps. The Italian Restaurant in there where the waiters sing in not great. -- Sports bets on baseball were coming through for me. I recommend two bet parlays. You bet 50 and win about 150, not bad. I also had good luck on NBA. Thanks Larry Brown and the Pistons. --Downtown is a fun place to play. We went down there one of four nights. Give it a try. Binions was OK and it was funny watching people walk into Glitter Gulch as some stripper was trying to get people to go in there. -- Ceasar's really is a palace. That place is amazing. Maybe someday the construction will be finished. It is huge. -- NY NY is an underrated hotel. The casino is mucho fun and the rooms are nice. We got a 60 buck rate and it was outstanding for the price. I recommend bringing earplugs to any hotel however. You never know when there will be some sort of noise and my floor did have some sort of construction. With the plugs however I slept well. -- The pool was fun. It's small at NY NY but beautiful women were there and my friends and myself had a good time chatting with people there. -- Cab service in Vegas is very good. I tip my cap to the cabbies. -- Barbary Coast is a great place, but needs to replace the small beers with full bottles. Just do it. -- I still haven't been back to the Stardust/Riviera part of the strip in years. I wonder if it woulda been fun down there. -- Casino Royale rocks. -- I saw a lady sprain her ankle walking down stairs at Caesars. They treated her quickly. I'm sure she was hurt but it made me wonder if it was a fake job like I saw on the travel channel. People try to fake falls in casinos to make money. -- Saw a car rear-end another zipping through the intersection down by MGM, Trop, that corner. It must be a bitch living in Vegas driving in the area of the strip with all the pedestrians. There was some sort of security problem at the airport and the line at SW stretch sooo far. Good thing my flight wasn't canceled. Four nights in Vegas is enough. But I will be back in July for a bachelor party, three nights this time. GO VEGAS!
