    No I love your TRs!

I enjoy doing them, not sure if anyone enjoys reading them LOL. I like to share the details that I don't find in other reports, which I admit are pretty boring, like what's in the vending machine at Gold Coast etc. Now that I've figured out TapaTalk, they're easier to do, and pass the time in the elevator etc. I take a lot of bad phone pictures that aren't good for anything but a TR. I felt I kept up with my last one ok as I was with ppl who went deep into their gambool zones when we were playing, so there wasn't constant pressure to be social. If I'm with a gaggle of low rolling friends though, it would be pretty hard to keep up with a report.

My pet peeve about LIVE TRIP reports is when I read the following in chronological order: (1) Excitement and details about impending trip; (2) Responses from well wishers; (3) Photos of plane and hotel room; (4) Announcement that reporter is trying his luck at the tables; and (6) Radio silence which indicates OP lost his bankroll and probably his mind and falls into a depressive state which precludes further information.

I usually take photos on my trips and after some reflection decide to provide a trip report if something interesting worth sharing occurs. I disagree that there is something unique about reporting the ups and downs of a gambling trip as it happens. Any good story teller can always subsequently pen a tale to put the reader into the context of any roller coaster event. By way of example I tried to set the context and details of my 100 times craps bet so that the reader could share the emotional ride even though it already occurred. https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/index.php?threads/bucket-list-item-–-100-times-odds-craps-bet.133797/

But I thought you said we had a contract!

If you're getting an earnest effort to update, what am I getting?

I also really like Royal Flusher's trip reports. An awful lot of thought goes into them.

So glad someone started a thread on this - I NEVER read "Live" trip reports - EVER!

    Same reasons the OP mentioned.

I also don't know why people need a "placeholder" for their report when they get home.

Just start the thread when you are ready.

I love live trip reports. I honestly can't remember half the shit I did in Vegas if I don't mention it at the time it occurred or take a photo. I'm guilty of starting a report and it's great until I get there. I am a slot player and I don't care for shows or any other entertainment when I go to Vegas. If I'm winning $50 on a max bet bonus, well I don't share. No one cares to see that. Or a bonus I win 95 cents on when I'm betting $6 a spin. Unfortunately that happens to me. Lol So I don't post it or want to remember it. Now if I'm winning, I'll post photos of wins $300 and higher. $300 isn't much but some people like to see those wins. If I only posted handpays 3/4 of my TR would be empty. Lol If I hit a big handpay, especially if it is a massive multiplier of my bet, you will get a commentary, a photo, AND a video of those babies! I know I posted my $4400 hit on a $3.50 bet on 3 reel Wonka during a live report. At least I think I did? Anyway I enjoy Las Vegas so much that I will take the good TR's with the bad and enjoy sharing in the posters trip excitement. I feel the same way when it's time for me to go! Sorry to those who I have often disappointed when my live report is dead. ;)

TRs shouldn't just be about the "big wins". If they were, we'd have almost none posted. Post the back alley picture of the shortcut you took somewhere. Post the drunk guy sleeping. Etc, and so on. Your trip isn't just, "big wins" and pancakes. It's the little things that make the whole!

Here's my challenge: Just take, and post, ONE photo each day that isn't the normal stuff. Then, you are on your way!

I hate the trip reports where the OP will post a picture on a win and then you get 25 comments that are all "nice hit" "great job" "leave some money for me when I get there" So the TR has 200 replies but only 5 of them are the actual report and I have to weed through all the junk. It was really bad when the big high rollers posted here, but they all abandoned ship.
