    Just wanted to say Hi.
Been lurking on the boards for a couple weeks now and decided to join.
Have only been fortunate enough to go to Vegas the once but love the place and am planning on going back within the next couple months. Until then I'm content playing BJ here in Tampa at the Hard Rock.

    Howdy! Welcome to the Board!

The family and I had a fun couple of days over on Treasure Island this summer! We love your part of the country!

Good evening. The home casino is the Hard Rock. The wife and mother-in-law are regulars there, but I'll back when we want to spend a day (drinks, food, gaming). On my old job, driving a delivery van, I used to buzz in there, if I had time between stops, and play a hand or two of blackjack and get back on the road. That got the kibosh once the pay-to-park policy went into effect. Something I do miss, was the virtual blackjack game, 'specially when the tables were full.

    Hi Itchy,

I’m another Tampa resident. We moved down here following graduation from MN some 45 years ago. We’re moving in the opposite direction as you. We’ve been to Vegas probably 50+ times going back to the earlier 90’s. The old Mirage Group treated us like kings and we couldn’t get enough of it. Older Vegas was the love of our life. It’s all quite different out there now as is flying (yuck). We’re content at this point to play weekly here at HR 35 minutes from home. Hope you make it back to sin city soon and we’ll look forward to you post.

Thank you all for the warm welcome.
Spent a good part of the evening reading through various posts and the itch to go back has now severely increased.
Great site, so glad I found it.

We use SWA. It's four hours and there's a modicum of savings if you do one stop...in addition to other fare specials. As an example, RT for April 9th thru 13th is $533, non-stop 'wanna get away' fare. Never used any other airline.

+1 for Southwest too. Although having the companion pass does make it a no brainer to use them whenever possible when my wife and I fly anywhere.

Tampa usually has 2 non stops per day. We always found better price(pay with points) on non stops, plus get companion. Frontier has non stops to Vegas and about 1/2 price of SW
