A little frustrated with my last MyVegas experience.

Turns out (for at least the two I used) you can not use a MV comp and charge any additional associated costs to your room.

I had the $30 credit for Heritage Steak at Mirage and a 2 for 1 at the Aria buffet.

Total for Heritage was $200+, told them I had the $30 for MV and wanted to charge to my room. I was told it had to be one or the other. I could either use the $30 comp and pay with cash or card OR I could charge it to my room but the MV credit could not be applied if I charged to the room. They said it was a "new policy".

Pretty much the same thing at the Aria buffet. Could not use the 2 for 1 voucher if I wanted to charge the "1" to the room. I had to pay with cash or card.

I was told by mlife that it's being done in an effort to cut down on people getting the myvegas comp and getting more of that associated charge comped off on the back end from their casino play.

Come on!

Makes sense, but that is a bummer, thanks for the update

Theyre takin the p1ss now :grrr:

This does suck. Thanks for the info! It just further details the push for the non-gambler dollars we've been seeing, with the freeplay restrictions and parking, plus various things CET is doing.

that sucks

this is why i spent all my points on show tickets
i always thought that was the best value for the loyalty points
but now they've taken away most of the shows as well

A lot of the show tickets (at least the "one free") were replenished today on MyVegas as of an hour or so ago, I just checked. I was also able to score 2 free tickets to Mandalay Bay's Shark Reef which had previously been sold out all morning. Good luck!

strange they told you that only yesterday ( wed ) i used a buy 1 get one free at the bellagio buffet and signed the other buffet to my room just fine

It is recent. First started at Mirage and now spreading to the rest of the hotels. They say it is a form of double dipping
