Sort of like the Irish "youse"?

If you go across the street to the Plaza, there's an Italian-style coffee bar called Caffelatte immediately to your right in the lobby. I actually like their espresso (from Illy) much better than I like Starbucks coffee. I think that when you take into account how long you would walk to find the lobby Starbucks in a bigger hotel, this will actually be closer, despite being off-property.

Stayed in one right on Fremont St. It was entertaining people watching and we knew to expect the loud music. The stage was right there, I'm not sure if it still is or not. It certainly was loud, but we were out and about pretty late so it didn't matter, and when we'd stop in to the room, it was fun to be able to look down at the stage and people. We had the shower issue with the scalding hot water but dealt with it. The room was small but adequate as mentioned several times above.

I ended up booking a comped standard room. The price to upgrade to a suite would have been close to $200, so I'll take free. It's not going to compare to the Cosmopolitan, but staying in a hundred-year-old hotel is an experience of which I'm going to make the best.

The way things have been looking lately, with my comps drying up almost everywhere, I may very well be booking at GG for my next trip.
I sure miss the days when gambling with a $700-$1000 a day bankroll would easily earn you 3-night offers at most places.
    Thanks for the tip, Fet!
When I book, I'll ask for that room!

I have stayed there and in my opinion with your wife you should really book a suite or upgrade. The small rooms are great if you don't plan on hanging out in your room. There is a lot of noise towards the Fremont side so book away from it. The suites do come with coffee maker.

We may just opt for free. Depends on how much we like or hate the room, I guess. Thing is we're already saving money by all of the pools being closed, so no $35 buckets of Bud Light! :D

I respectfully disagree about the accent.
Just tune inta ‘TAE an watch Salwwy Wiggin interview some jag off in the street abaht that PennDot worker gettin shot while sleepin in his truck....

No, seriously though. There’s an accent that I can hear on someone from a distance, even without the vernacular. It’s a whole SW PA thing.

Back to our regularly scheduled thread now....

Ive stayed one night there by myself when I got into town the night before everyone else for a bachelor party. As a crash pad, it’s fine. Not “get away” experience though.

I’m double booked there at at MSS for my October trip for the Big Smoke. Not sure where to stay, will decide after the trip with my wife later this month.

Just curious how much play is required to get the GG Suite comped?

A host there told me that $25+ per hand blackjack, 4+ hours a day for 3+ days would get me the comped suite.
Of course, that was a few years ago, but I doubt it's changed much (if at all).
I asked him about $30 avg. bet per hand on UTH, and he told me "Nope - we only rate you on your ante & blind bets." (He agreed with me that it wasn't really very fair.)
I didn't ask him about machine play or craps.

I got a comp'd suite at the GG a few years ago. They are very nice. If I had to pay for their regular rooms I would stay elsewhere as there are better deals and larger rooms downtown.

If i can verify your play elsewhere ( CET i have a lot of connections ) i would be happy to start off a suite for 600ADT+ player. Especially if you are new to the brand or if you can play at that level but haven't been here in awhile( and are un-hosted here ). PM me.

Is that 600 average points per day or $600 coin in per day or something else?

ADT = "average daily theoretical" (loss).
It's a formula which factors in your average wager, the game you're playing (& it's house advantage), and the length of time you play - all per day.
