I look at it much differently than that. For someone in my shoes, and I think a lot are, I get free rooms at almost all MLife properties. I do have to pay the resort fees on those rooms which are roughly $50/night. For a four night stay that means I am spending $200 out of pocket either way and I can spend that $200 to stay at Luxor, MGM Grand, NYNY, Excalibur, etc... I am not free at Bellagio or Aria but I am discounted a good bit there (plus resort fees). Mandalay Bay is on the free list for me as well and is the only real argument as to value for my $200 vs The Wynn.

I'm not fooling anyone, including myself, that I'm saving $1800 on a stay at the Wynn. I am significantly upgrading my stay over my other options (again, Mandalay Bay being an exception) for the exact same price. That is where the value comes from for me. Is it still a value at $300? $400? $500? I don't know, if I'm spending even $100 more than I have to then I have to assess the value of staying at The Wynn over the other properties and determine at what dollar amount it's no longer a value to me.

EVery single time I have looked at nights at the Wynn, the vast majority that are 3k gems or less are all $130 a night and nowhere near $200. Just by signing up for their email list they send out offers monthly for 15%+ discounts. I guess if you have enough gems and can get 4-8 nights booked where rates are very high then it may be worth it. Most people aren't playing nearly that much, nor accumulating 30,000 gems.

The $/gems are based on the rates if you just flash up the website and don't log in.

There is almost always a 35% offer that I've seen, which does bring the weekday rates down to ~$130 (before tax & rf).

Heh, well... now I certainly am. I was on the fence when they wrecked it a few weeks ago, but I was still playing, cause why not? Maybe some freak accident will happen, and they'll make it suck less again in the future (I know, highly unlikely, but I could dream, right?) Well, then after this latest update, I was told I was banned for breaking the rules. I immediately appealed to support, because I definitely was not breaking any of their rules - finally heard back this morning, and on the plus side, that error was actually completely incorrect, my account wasn't and had never been banned, they just reused that same message to be needless confusing, and the actual issue was that they're now checking for Android emulators and not letting them in. So that's great in that I didn't lose all my gems and can still hypothetically use them on buffets in the future, assuming they don't break that later too, which I wouldn't put past them at this point... on the other hand, actually continuing to play the game, having to play on my dinky, slow, one-app-at-a-time phone, that's the nail in the coffin right there. Oh well, it was good while it lasted - wish I'd gotten more than one night out of it before they nerfed it to oblivion, but at least I got one.

Even in this case... add the tax and the resort fee, you’re still looking at the better part of $200. Save for a generous casino rate or a crazy Boxing Day sale, you’re not going to get nights at the Wynn for much less than $200, and certainly not less than $150. I’d say about $175 is the “floor price”.

I have decided I am going to try and collect VIP points for 1 more cycle with the hopes that they do enough special events that it becomes feasible to get to level 1.
2 free buffets/trip is still 2 free buffets for letting it spin on my desk at home.
If after 90 days I find that it is not possible to get to level 1 with the "Special days" then I will hang it up until it changes to a point where you can get something out of it without putting real Money into it.

Ok, so I got $1,300 worth of rooms for $320. I stand corrected. Although I have already had one Fri-Sat night stay and am staying Fri-Sat. March 20-22, but I suppose those rates have gone down now because people are rethinking their travel. I still find the Wynn app to have incredible value.

I liked staying at Mandalay Bay, but I would not put Mandalay Bay (four star, at best) at the same level as Wynn, a five-star resort.

    $130 + $45 mandatory resort fee +13.5% room tax = $198.63 (so, yeah, approx. $200/night)
    vs.
Comp room + no mandatory resort fee + 13.5% room tax = $0

According to the hotel's Web site, the non-discounted rate is $499 for Friday night and $399 for Saturday night. Neither night is currently available to book through the app; you still got a great deal.

While I am sympathetic to this, it is worth noting that even many who do have offers only have them for a limited # of nights, and for some of us can be unavailable on weekends.

In addition, the ability to have nights with no expectation of play to either ease up a bankroll, or comp seed at a different property has value in itself.

My point being that for people with alternatives the value may not be as high, but it is still above a modest room upgrade and any fees paid.

To be fair, neither would I. Of the comps I get Mandalay Bay is the nicest so I use it as the best comparison I have. I certainly like Mandalay Bay and when I use MLife comped rooms that is where I stay. I'm not enough of a baller to get 100% free at a place like Bellagio.

Again, MB is a great option, but I agree it's not on par with The Wynn.

I have been playing since a little before the VIP levels came in and was assigned to level 2 at that time. I used 5.2 k gems to book a Saturday night in May and also bought two buffets for Sunday morning. I have spend $24.95 on five piggy banks. Would we stay at the Wynn on a normal trip? No, we like to be more centrally located and don't usually go to that area. We will explore that area on Saturday and Sunday and then move down the strip to a comped (pay the resort fee at the Flamingo). I feel the app has been well worth it for me but will not be playing it much in the future since I am not willing to pay $200 for another stay at the Wynn. I may change my mind after May but I doubt it as we really like the area from Casino Royale to Planet Hollywood.

Not leaving yet. Still have level 3 so I'm good until June. My dad paid up. I think he paid $65, not bad since he has 16500 gems. He hopes to be coming with us in the fall.

    I misinterpreted the terms.

I guess I am basically done playing now then.

I got 7 nights and 6 buffets for a $150 cdn investment. I can live with that :)

I've spent about $5-600, and will have had 12 nights out of it, plus gotten on their radar for at least 2 lots of comped nights with $300FP/$300RC, and some show tickets.

Not bad considering I've had never had more than 6bn, and was giving money to the Wynn's actual slots when the EM chaos was going on, lol.

We all had a good run, and many of us a great one. Most will have done better, but I doubt many will have cried less :p

Looks like everyone now has their answer. Big exodus soon with the latest update and likely even more to come. Anyone still want to say it is worth it, knowing it will only get worse.

Well got 3 nights out of them last year and may push for 2 on my app and 2 on my sister's this year, but that will probably be about it.

Lol if someone still says it's worth it, I'm thinking they're trolling us. Wynn is going to see a ton of chargebacks over the coming weeks from people who bought up recently to L3.

I have 25K gems, never booked a night, and I feel that I've been royally screwed. I had planned a 4 night Wynn stay in May, but I'm on standby for a consulting assignment during that timeframe, plus I'm reluctant to travel to Vegas at this time due to the...well we know. Now it will cost me $400 to book 4 nights, plus what I've put in the game to date which is conservatively around $200. I'll end up paying $600 for four nights. Big whoppee.....

I think the general consensus here (add more fuel to the fire with the recent update) is that people are indeed leaving the app behind. Not everyone of course. Perhaps when all is said and done this is what they wanted.

Ask this question today, and I think you’ll see a lot of different answers. Last week I thought $200 for 4 nights at The Wynn was still a good value. Today, I don’t think $200 for 2 nights is enough of a value to keep playing.
