Harrah's towers. Which would you pick?

I'm heading back to Vegas after an unintended two year hiatus. My wife and I usually stay at Treasure Island, but I'm probably going alone this time and figured I would stay somewhere cheaper. I think I will stay at Harrah's since I will have some friends there and will also be able to utilize the monorail to the convention center. I see that they list three towers. I'm assuming Carnaval is over Carnaval Court. I'm a pretty boring 59 year old and that doesn't sound like something I would like. The other towers listed are Mardi Gras and Valley. I don't really know what the difference is and figured there were some Harrah's veterans here that could help me decide. Which would you pick?

    Thanks, George.

Valley is the newly renovated tower. All things being equal, that'd be the one I would go for.

Valley would be the newest, thus the best. If you can get a cheaper room in the others do it. Just ask for a quiet room. You're going solo, who cares what room. Go cheap, but quiet.

Some rooms are listed as "High Roller View". Would that put them over Carnaval Court or would they be farther back from the strip than the court? Also, there is a Carnaval Tower "Strip View". Is that still over the court, or on the other side facing TI and Venetian?

High Roller views are the farthest from Carnaval Court. Carnaval Strip view is TI/Venetian

Valley rooms are REAL nice for the price. Harrahs has really improved lately.

Just reread your question. Carnaval tower is actually the farthest from Carnaval Court. Mardi Gras is the closest. If noise is your main concern and you don't want to risk what you would get rondomly at check in, Valley Mountain view or Carnaval High Roller view. Still ask for a high floor or you may be staring at a garage.

I think I booked what they call a Valley Tower "pool view". Would that be a quiet room?

It really depends. Any room can be "noisy" or "quiet"

    1)Depends on the neighbors
2)Depends on the construction of the room
    3)Depends on outside noise

At Harrahs, IMHO it's not as much of an issue as downtown.

That being said, if you look at the picture I posted, I guess that would be a "pool view", and my room (16th floor) at Harrahs was very quiet.

Check your reservation. The only room Harrahs bills as Pool View is Mardi Gras Pool View. Obviously, per DaiLun's pic, the Valley Tower has rooms overlooking the pool. They just aren't billed as Pool View.

Mardi Gras Pool View is the worst category for room noise from Carnaval Court. If you look at DaiLun's photo, the low building to the right of the pool is Mardi Gras Tower. Follow the building to the left (Linq) to the end. There is a purple "tent" with a gold orb on top. That's Carnaval Court. The noise flows out of there and echos between Linq and Mardi Gras Tower.

If you are in Valley Tower you should be ok, but the higher the floor the better.

Have they always had the Valley Tower? The two times we stayed there it was Mardi Gras or Carnival. We preferred Carnival.

IIRC, I ended up booking the Carnaval Strip view. I think that's the view of Venetian and TI, right? I'll know for sure next Monday.

I need to see a map of the Carnaval Tower.... I'm still trying to place which wing/side the Valley Tower would be.... I could have this totally backwards, but in my mind the Carnaval High Roller View rooms would be the "South" rooms and thus the new Valley rooms.. or is that wrong?

This was the best I could find. If you look at the v-shaped building in the front. Valley Tower (old Carnaval South) is the part on the left with "Harrah's" on top. The part in the right is Carnaval (old Carnaval North). The High Roller would be to the left. The valley rooms don't allow a view, because the building itself blocks the view. High Roller view rooms are in Carnaval and can look across the open V to see it in an angle.#
