during my last stay at harrahs in july, i thought the room was awful. was so used up, reminded me of a motel 6.

i know they have remodeled some rooms which are in a tower they renamed the valley tower or something like that. does anyone know if those are the only remodeled rooms or are there other recently remodeled. i have offers for both mardi gras and carnival tower rooms.

harrahs has emerged as one of my favorite places to gamble. i like the dealers, they have lots of tables, and i seem to have good luck there. also the location can't be beat.

any info any of you can pass along would be appreciated.

on a side note, during the trip i just got back from on monday, i took zero cab rides. i used lyft. i will never take another cab in vegas. i was always leary of using lyft or uber but the ease of using, the cheaper fares, the nicer vehicles and the american drivers makes it my only choice from here on out.

I too am a fan of Harrah's. If you are expecting 5 star you are going to be disappointed. If you want a decent room without any frills this is a great place. The location is great and I find the dealers to be really nice. There are a lot that have been there for a long time and are very good.

I've stayed multiple times at Harrahs through the years. What I was trying to figure out is where are the remodeled rooms, Mardi Gras or Carnival tower

I agree with you on lyft and Uber - much better than cabs. Getting long hauled by the cab drivers that speak no English is a thing of the past, fortunately.

As far as I can tell, the Carnival South side are where the Valley Tower rooms are located. Some are advertised as Strip View and some as Valley View. Apparently, the remodel project is being done in this tower and is an ongoing one that creates some confusion as to the actual name of the tower where your room will be. Surely, the elevators have revised signage.

decided to just take a mardi gras tower room. it's just a room on a guys trip so i don't expect to be in it more than 5-6 hours per day.

How do you acquire lyft or uber from the airport?

Download app, put in LV promo code to get $5 off first 10 rides. They pick up on level 2M of parking garage. Just request a ride and they will pick u up. I used them 4 times and longest wait was 6 minutes and every ride was great
