    My Trip Report

Arrived 7 pm Sunday after a long flight with united ok but bit of a wait at lax. United have tower talkback on the passenger audio which was fun. On to Alamo to pick the car up, find them much more helpful than dollar. Then drive to Harrahs parking lot, they check to see if we are booked in. Diamond check in went ok for once. Super bowl weekend coming up so could not find us rooms for Tuesday or Wednesday so booked Laghlin Harrahs.
Busy in casino had two meals in the Range, noisy with football crowed, service poor, good job it is comped as I would not have paid for it. On to Harrahs Laghlin ok seemed busy for mid week but ok. Back to Harrahs lv for super bowl weekend ok but sleped most of the day eating at night not too bad, a few people had too much to drink and it took a little while for the casino to clean up. Diamond guests now have a separate entrance to the buffet and separate eating area which was more pleasant than the Range.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday got the la times $30 a night deal at the Orleans, things got a lot better. Eating in the Bourbon street, wonderful bread before a very nice salad and steak, half the price and twice the quality compared to Harrahs Range. It is just that my partner finds the gambling so much better at Harrahs (I don’t gamble and it is the main reason for the trip). We had just eaten and I was watching my partner invest in the Orleans slots when a guy hit 1.9 million on a wheel of fortune progressive so it can be done, nothing on the news about it though. I got my deal on a new pc from sears last one in the shop so I am now very happy, about half the price I would pay in the uk. Friday time to go home, told by united one-hour check in for the lax flight would be fine so returned hire car to avis no problem and arrived at the check -in one hour forty minutes before the flight. The United desk was five lines deep, we got pulled out of the almost right away as we where on the la flight, took our bags and booked us through to London . Went straight to the gate took twenty minuets to get through the security check then on the shuttle to the satellite got to the gate ten minutes before the flight.
Yes the gate was closed they had sold our seats and the flight was full, this was our fault!. They offered to put us on the next flight in two hours, I then asked how we could then get to London, the best they could offer was a overnight wait in la airport for a London flight the next day. We said we would sooner stay in Vegas she then said she would put us on the same flights tomorrow and even wave the $100 fee for the change how generous, we did not feel there was any point in arguing so we needed a room on Friday night in Vegas and it is now three in the afternoon. Well Harrahs finally came through one phone call and they comped us a suite got us some robes and toiletries as all our bags are in la, they can perform very well and it was very nice, shame its not all the time. Back in April to invest some more money. London wet, cold and a broken tube system. makes Harrahs and United look good. all the best nickm
