Well, the countdown is upon us and I CAN'T wait!!!! We're staying 4 nites downtown and 3 on the strip. I currently have 3 nites comped at Harrah's and I was hoping for comped rooms at Bally's but no dice. I was told that I could get comped at the Flamingo in one of their new rooms? The last time we were there 2 years ago, we had to get moved to 3 different rooms. They were dirty (actual garbage left on the bathroom floor under the vanity, etc), or lamps were broken. They ended up putting us in a go room, the first one the AC didn't work so they moved us again. Not a very good experience. It was like 10pm before we finally got settled into a room. I'm rambling, sorry. My question is, based on the rooms only, would you prefer Harrah's or the Flamingo? Are the rooms small at Harrah's? I do like their casino better. Is the construction still really bad beside Harrah's?

To be honest I'm not too concerned, as I also double booked. I have comped rooms at the MGM and will probably be sleeping there. Hubby has health issues and finds it hard to get around for any length of time, so I thought it would be good to have rooms at each end, in case he was too tired to make it back to the MGM.

Thanks for any input, I was just sorta wondering, if I should change from Harrah's to the Flamingo.

Congrats on your trip!! We've only stayed at Flamingo (for 1 Sat nite since couldn't get into Paris till Sunday) and we had a really old, not very clean room. The Go Rooms are great from what I read but since do not enjoy the Flam casino too much - have passed on those offers. Folks have posted on here about the Harrah's rooms and most seem pleased. Hope someone can provide specifics for you. Good luck :)

These days...with all the construction going on for Linq...
Harrah's, IP, or Flamingo I bet are all subject to 'chance'.
Flamingo was in the 'dark' and no water for a while. That
whole area is under attack off 'n on.

Hated the Flamingo. I also moved three times and finally went to Bally's.

If you want to sleep in at all harrah's may be a better bet. They start to crank the poolside music around 8:00am and it gets louder as the morning progresses.

Ive stayed at flamingo one night, and just returned from a 3 night stay at harrahs.I was pleasantly surprised with my harrahs stay.my room was nice, and the casino was livelier than I though it would be.I was a little worried about the AC sensor, but it seems the sensor is just for leaving and entering the room,so no issues of turning off once in the room.

I also liked the flamingo, the food court is convieniet and cheaper than a restaurant.my premium room at harrahs was definitely nicer than the fab deluxe room at flamingo.

As for the Linq construction,I never heard any noise while at harrahs.when I stayed at the flamingo the Linq construction hadn't started yet.

Is your Harrah's room the lowest of the 3 levels or which type? If the nicest then take Harrahs & give it a shot! I believe their rooms are fairly small. Flamingo is average size - nothing huge but very survivable.

If you choose Flamingo see if they will give you a south facing view so you don't have to worry about any construction noise. Normally I prefer a garden view OR south, but with the construction you just don't know what is going to happen noise-wise after 6 or 7 in the morning. Best option is of course a GO room, but if they are offering a 'new' room that's a FAB. The rooms were 'refreshed' but bathrooms have not been done. Be slightly wary of a straight on strip view as the noise from the club at Caesars can keep you awake.

Harrah's will put you in a requirement to get through the construction zone - Flamingo will not (unless you want to play at Harrahs). However, either location has access to the monorail for an easy trip back to MGM.

I seriously really like Flamingo - I can stay at Harrahs but still choose Flamingo over it. However, that is a GO room. If I were only comped a FAB I might try Harrahs just once to give myself the opportunity to try something else besides Flamingo, Paris & Ballys.

Thanks for all the replies! I think we're leaning towards Harrahs as we've never stayed there before, and will give them a try. I do like their casino better than the Flamingo, so we'll see. Thanks again..
