Have stayed at Planet Hollywood, Paris, Ballys, Flamingo, Cesars, on next trip thinking of trying Harrahs or Linq.
We are seniors mostly play 60% Video poker, 40 % slots and dabble in Craps, moderate drinkers, not foodies, & don't expect fancy room only clean & comfy, quiet. Prefer lower floor. Any info appreciated, usually get comped at these casinos for 5 nights. Platinum. Thanks Bobby

Harrahs is now my hew home property. I moved from Caesars.

    1)Closest walk to the monorail
2)Plenty of food options, in all price ranges
3)Room comp rates much better than Caesars
    4)Big casino, plenty of variety

I have only stayed in the Valley Tower (the newly remodeled one) and found it clean and comfortable. Check out my latest TR for pictures of a Valley Tower room.

I've tried to branch out and I keep coming back to Harrahs. The new renovations are great. I think their bathrooms in the casino need some work. But the staff is friendly, drink service timely, location is perfect and I can always get a comp.

Stayed at the Linq this past December and as you can see on my countdown timer I'm going back shortly... found it to be a nice casino with quality gaming not to mention it's in the middle of the strip and a easy walk to any number of casinos...rooms on the smaller side but tastefully decorated with comfortable pillows and beds. I'm a fan.

We find Harrah's a very comfortable stay, plus you cant beat the location. I like that the elevators to the rooms are right off the floor, so a close walk to the casino. The Linq elevators are near the back of the casino.

We've stayed in both recently (this year)
    Hands DOWN its Linq...
We stayed in rhe Harrahs Mardi Gras Tower and it was a DUMP and the casino was hella dead for a weekend night.
We stayed in "District 3" at Linq, and it was really nice and redone.
The atmosphere at Linq was absolutely electric on a weekend night!
If I chose to stay at CET, and was a low roller in rooms, I'd definitely choose Linq.
Other honorable mention are Pho and CP

I have stayed a both Harrah's and the Linq. I was at Harrah's last week in a Carnival Tower room. I really liked it. It served all my needs. The thing I like about the Linq is that the rooms have refrigerators.
Both have great locations. I could choose either one. . For me, both are a win, win.

I'd also say that the Linq is a little more geared towards people who were born in the 1980s and Harrahs is a little more geared towards people who had kids in the 1980s.

Linq attracts a younger and somewhat rowdier crowd though I think the standard rooms are newer and nicer. Casino is quite a bit larger at Harrahs. Of course, they are a few hundred feet apart so staying at either gives you easy access to both.

I have both Harrah's and LinQ comped in August for a week, i chose the LinQ. I love the LinQ casino much better than Harrah's. I have stayed many times at Imperial Palace, hated the casino but the rooms were cheap and the casinos i gamble at were always close by.
I haven't yet stayed at LinQ, but the rooms, although small, look to be greatly updated with fridges, 47" TV, and just an overall modern look, which i like.
Yes, the LinQ is geared towards a younger crowd, Harrah's geared more for the geriatric crowd (J/K), but both properties have issues with noise depending on you're room location.
    I personally love noise......LOL.

My wife's parents and all her Aunts and Uncles would stay at Harrah's once or twice per year. So when we finally got to Vegas in 2007 we went and checked out Harrah's and thought we were in a retirement home! ;)

I haven't stayed at Harrahs, but June will be my sixth time at the Linq. I love it. I don't LOVE their slot selection, but the location makes it easy to go to Cromwell or Harrahs, which have better slots in my opinion. What is nice about the Linq is the tables seem to be less busy than the surrounding casinos...also O'Sheas has the best drink service on the strip IMO

Yes they did, but they also said they want "quiet", which could be a problem at Harrah's with Carnival Court, the LinQ with the entertainment center and O'Shea's, Flamingo with dudes and dudettes frolicking by the pool looking for hookups with DJ's in the background, the Cromwell with Drais beach club during the day, night club into the wee hours of the morning, Bally's with sound from Drais and/or music from the Chateau night club at Paris, Paris, with the sounds of Chateau, and Planet Hollywood, with the deafening sounds of mating season in full swing......LOL.

Quiet is not a problem at all with the Linq or Harrah's. I ALWAYS ask for a room AWAY from Carnival Court. I have never had a problem with noise. Something as simple as asking for a room AWAY from Carnival Court solves that problem.
