If the choice was between Harrah's (Classic room) or Imperial Palace (Deluxe room), which hotel would you pick and why?

I wouldn't stay at either now due to the construction, but if I had to pick one it would be IP. Their rates are usually better than Harrah's and their location is yes, I know, marginally better.

I've stayed at both, but not since '04. I would give the nod to Harrah's, but niether is anything to jump up in the night and scream about.

    Depends on the price.

I stayed at IP last year, reluctantly, and it was fine. It was really, really, really cheap, probably half of what Harrah's would be. The room fit minimal standards of cleanliness.

The thing I hated about IP the most was long waits for an elevator. None of that was in evidence at all in my last visit. No elevator waits at all.

IP is a very low rent place, and, well, it has a low rent clientele. If you're cool with that (it doesn't bother me), then you're fine.

The Capri rooms are essentially motel rooms way behind the garage. My friends stayed in one last year and it was surprisingly non-horrible, but still: if you have anything but minimal standards for a hotel, IP is not your choice. I have minimal standards when I am going with my buddies and the room is just for sleeping/showering/drinking beer, and for that, IP fits the bill.

    I've never stayed at Harrah's.

The IP's Capri room complex has been torn down to make way for the new LINQ project.

Which hotel has the better swimming pool?

Is there a hot tub/Jacuzzi by the pool area?

Those were my 2 top choices. The LINQ project changed my mind. I booked Bally's. I'm cheap and I was kind of looking forward to IP. But, I want to have a good time and not risk being affected by construction. I'm sure I can still get drunk at IP.

Harrah's unless the price difference is 75+ per night.

The area around carnival court is a nightmare anyway. The construction will make it worse.....If your choosing between reasonable harrahs properties, I'd go Ballys.
