I hadn't heard much mentioned about this place before, but then again, I don't really pay attention to the local casinos. Looks to be about an hour away from their Cherokee, NC casino. Like it says in the article, it'll pull some off the Cherokee casino, which isn't such a bad idea. At least from the people I know that do go over from time to time, especially people from Georgia, and also open things up to gamblers from South Carolina.

Meh. Saves me thirty minutes driving from Atlanta. Maybe they will have slightly lower craps minimums on Friday/Saturday than over at Cherokee. Prefer a $10 game. That's about the only way it'd get my business. Not that I matter. Looks like the poker room will still be automated so that won't draw my business either.

Seems like they could lose their ass if MGM gets the casino in downtown ATL that's being studied/debated.

Fortunately for Cherokee, it will probably be a cold day in hell before that actually happens. Went there once over 2 years living in atl. And that was the only time I ever played on an e-poker table. I actually didn't mind (I played on PokerStars a ton back then), except for the god awful $5 rake. Now that was a joke.

It's not. But it's on the casinos website.

It only has 300 rooms all non smoking which for some is a good thing. No real restaurants - just a food court. For me it is 3 hours to Cherokee & 4 1/2 to Valley River.
