Bwahaha, I suppose his trip to AC maaaay have had something to do with my trip to Cherokee ... the $125 in free play didn't hurt.

I think a casino in Atlanta would be great, but it will never happen. There were a couple of guys that wanted to convert the underground to a 'casino', but they wanted to fill it with the lottery video terminals:

Gambling machines at Underground wouldn't be true slots, they say, but "video lottery terminals" managed by the state lottery. The machines look like slots but pay out at a predetermined rate so there's less random chance.

I kinda think that is worse than no casino at all...

Couldn't believe the news when I heard they were building a second Cherokee casino, I felt like they were just going to cannibalize themselves. But then again, there are a lot of folks that would like to go to Cherokee for the weekend but can't on account of not being able to get a room (myself included), so maybe it will work out.

I for one would rather save it for Vegas....

Thanks for the TR Son! I would also love a casino in ATL as my girlfriend lives there and I'll be there Friday lol. Unfortunately, in more politically conservative states, gaming won't come to fruition unless a federally recognized native american tribe asks for one. Wishful thinking I assume but can't state governments just let us play some games wherever we want lol. In NC Cherokee actually only had slots for a number of years until the tribe pushed for table games. Of course alcohol is still prohibited after 2am and no comping of drinks but it helps get your fix in! So glad I'm in the mid atlantic now haha
