Hello fellow VMBs This is my humble attempt to add to the trip reports that I oh so enjoy the 10months of the year I am not in Vegas. Living thru you all buys me time and allows me to get my fix…lol we will be leaving Feb 9th to Feb 12th. Delta miles paid for the trip so we are flying free and staying at Harrah’s Las Vegas on a comp. As of the start of the year I am newly Diamond with Total Rewards thanks to FC. I’m looking forward to seeing if I can squeeze the $300 of value out of my upgrade. Because ultimately its either a +EV or –EV purchase. Things to expect out of this TR will be lots of poker stack pics, running bankroll updates, maybe a few interesting hands, chasing VP royals, and possibly going south at the BJ table to increase comps. Diamond lounge and $20 sandwich upgrade attempt. $100 celebration dinner. Aria is my home for poker. Lots of FOOD! And Cocktails…I’m a vodka guy so I’ll take any suggestions. All though I could see myself bouncing around looking for good games and change of scenery. I’m going with a poker buddy who is usually the calm one, telling me when to stop drinking or giving away money but with a kid on the way it may be his turn to go Vegas crazy. This is a profit trip with a few moments of relaxation at enjoying the fruits of my labor. So far this year I’m on a nice up swing already up more than half of my total profit from 2017. Count down to lift off 2 days…. A little bit about myself I’m 34 male with a government job and I have my own side business that thrives in cycles. I usually enjoy Vegas multiple times a year living in a state where there is no legal poker or gambling(bible belt) and my “home casino” is 3 hours away. At age 20 I found Hold’em online I believe ultimate bet was my first deposit and have been hooked since. Took me about 6 years to become a winning player and I considered moving to Vegas to play for a living…so glad I didn’t. It’s obviously a tuff way to make an “easy” living and I’m sure I would have been living in my mom’s basement within 6 months not just because of skill but maturity. The last 8 years of profitable poker have blessed me with ability to take trips around the world but by no means pay my bills or lifestyle, just a nice bonus. I consider myself a serious recreational player at this point as I log about 15 hours a month playing cards and study the game seriously another 5 hours a month. I’ve recently been bitten by the Pot Limit Omaha but and am a true beginner so we may see a shot at a 5/5/10 plo game if the cards run well. Omaha to Holdem is like comparing your wife to hookers and cocaine(upswing mentioned). But I know my long term edge is at the 1/3 and 2/5 No Limit Hold’em tables. Because of my lifestyle/jobs and choices(no kids) I have plenty of schedule flexibility and some disposable income. With that being said this is not a spending trip. When making my goals for the year I set 200 hours playing cards as a medium priority and would expect at least 20 hours out of 4 days in Vegas. Pic is how 2018 is going at the moment with poker. Quick Notes *FEB 9th –FEB12th * Harrahs comp/ 1st timer diamond FC. * 2 poker guys trying to make a buck and not live in the tunnels *Bankroll 4k for 4 days. *Leak is VP Royal chasing/women/ cocktails…..order? Any questions about poker, win rate, travel or life I’m pretty much an open book. All recommendations will be welcomed….
