I had a couple of visits to Phoenix and now apparently I have a host. I’m going in November for the oilers hockey game and he randomly reaches out to me with free tickets and hotel. Since I was going anyway obviously I couldn’t Turn it down. Problem is we’ll be drinking and Glendale is a ways away. How is Uber availability in Maricopa? It’s only about $45 which is cheap for the distance but that’s if I can find a ride. Hopefully a ride back won’t be an issue either. Anyone dealt with Uber or Lyft out there?

I haven't done Uber or Lyft in Maricopa.... are you sure it's only $45? That is quite the distance from the arena to Ak-Chin - about an hour drive and maybe 50-60miles. The arena is north west of phoenix and ak-chin is way south. It may be tough to get uber drivers who are willing to go down there but maybe if you schedule in ahead you might find takers.

If Ak-Chin is inviting you, ask your host if the casino is arranging transportation to the game. I am at Ak-Chin now and the casino will have a bus take me and other guests to an NFL game tomorrow.

yeah, $45 seems low to me also. Glendale is one of the closer suburbs but just to get from the casino to the highway is a good 20 minutes and with any amount of traffic even more (which if there is a game there will probably be traffic). If your play is such that it warrants a host you should be able to have them provide you transportation even if it is shared with other guests. Have fun!

Yeah he said no to transportation. The $45 was an estimate from the Uber website so I’m assuming it’s accurate. Maybe I can convince my wife to DD for me.
