    My Trip Report

Drove the 4 hours and change (ugh traffic) to Atlantic City for the night, celebrating that I'm hopefully getting a new job soon lol.

They put me in a Waterfront Suite, which is well beyond what I deserve for my action on a comp but who cares! I'll stay loyal despite my losses if they keep doing this lol, and perhaps I win tonight!

Trying to reinstall Tapatalk to get the pics up.
If anyone is here lmk :)

That's the room we were supposed to have when we last stayed at Harrah's AC.

Instead they put us in a room five levels lower, next door to some kids who wouldn't shut up during the day and across the hall from some kids who partied all night.

Related note: We have never stepped foot in Harrah's AC since.

(But your room does look awesome!)

Great looking room, you should have some nice weather today, 72 degrees, full sun, not too windy.

If you're a fan of micro distilleries, check out Little Water distillery. In addition to rum, vodka and whiskey they produce shrubs, which are vinegar based cocktail flavorings.

My big Beef with Harrah's is the $40 buffet pricing, but I guess most folks use comp dollars or BOGO coupons. Bring home a win!

Ugh, I got destroyed last night with alcohol and to a lesser extent gambling, will give a wrap up shortly. Just drove home 3.5 hours lol. Learned two things however:
    1) I don't get upset losing anymore and
    2) the seven stars lounge at caesars is very nice (I'm not a seven stars member) lol

    More to come

    Baller!!
We went to harrahs AC back in 2014 and we really enjoyed it..we were in the "atrium" tower, which for free, tbe room was really good size (almost a full suite if I remember right)
Cool pool area, and the little "diamond cove" is where we played

Wow. Great suite! I get comped rooms, but not comped suites...though sometimes I get moved up just like you did. For regular rooms I like the Bay Tower better than the Waterfront Tower because the bathrooms are larger and nicer. But, that suite beats them all! Sorry to hear you ended up paying for the suite in the end. I guess that's what they hope for. Well, sometimes we win, sometimes we lose.

Haha thanks guys. So I'm going to try to recap as best I can but I haven't been that drunk in a while.

Got in at around 530, got the suite above which again, I didn't deserve lol. Hit mccormick and Schmick inside harrahs as they have one of the best happy hour drink/dinner specials I've ever seen in a casino. $11 plus tip and I got two drafts and a nice blue cheese burger with bacon and fries- first meat I've had since my dad was diagnosed with colon cancer (I overreacted and have avoided meat since, I don't understand the word moderation lol).

After that, I began my usual stroll throughout the casino. I finally found a table of a few guys having fun, which is what I'm always looking for first (tied with good rules of course lol). I love the interaction with people from around the world and these guys were high fiving so I joined. We played on and off for around an hour or two, and while drink service started out awful it picked up and apparently within 60 minutes I had around 3 shots and 5 beers. I hate shots, but needed to get that buzz going. While the table was on the floor and $15, one of two guys I befriended was a seven stars member. They told me to wait and that were going to the seven stars club in caesars.

Well, outside they were indeed waiting and the TR shuttle was nowhere to be found, however, a group of girls just got out of a stretch hummer limo so we did the logical thing. We asked the driver how much and then ended up taking the hummer to caesars for 30 bucks and a 10 min ride, not too bad. Enter the seven stars lounge in caesars

Now, I'm not a big player, anyone whose read my ramblings over the past few years knows I'm normally a 25-50 player at BJ and I lose often so I get the usual room comps and occasionally some other minor stuff. The seven stars guy got me in with him and his friend- both from the Cleveland area, super nice guys. I believe one was a martial arts expert and the seven stars guy owned a furniture store. Anyway, we end up being in the lounge for 2 hours and I proceed to have a second dinner, wasn't hungry but drunk hungry, a few asp and dessert.... And roughly 5-6 espresso martinis. Espresso martinis are good but not that many in succession and not at midnight.

Then we head to the caesars casino floor, and that's where the losing starts. Now I lose often so I've adopted the approach that I take what I can afford and just go for the experience so I'm not as regretful as I once was when I began.

Lose at BJ so for the first time, I head to roulette. Went with the non seven stars guy and of course he wins and I don't lol. So then I head for a high limit slot, also a first, and lose as well. Apparently at that point I walked outside and took a cab back to harrahs.

Some folks who've read my TRs in the past know that I've fallen asleep with food before only to wake up, and see turkey and tomatoes all over the place. That happened again. This time it was a bagel with cream cheese, which I woke up and it was attacked to my neck lol.

Wicked hangover, haven't been this hungover in a while and the 3.5 plus hour drive affords some reflection but I had a blast. Hadn't been to AC in around two years so this was nice until my Vegas trip in November.

Hopefully this provides some entertainment and looking forward to meeting some VMB'ers in vegas in two months, I love the social aspect and perhaps this time I win! Two second and third round interviews this week for new jobs so praying something happens there as well.

    Chris

OK then, maybe stop at the distillery next trip.

Sounds like you had a blast, probably just what you needed.

    thanks for the write up!

I like the 'waking up with bagel and lox attached to the neck' part. Sounds black-out fun. I can't drink like that anymore...8 manhattans are my limit...at least last I remember it was 8.

I love going to AC. Glad you had what are sure to be some really good memories, even if the gambling wasn't the best this time. I'm heading to Harrah's in November for a convention myself.

I love AC as well. I have only had great experiences there and my biggest hand pay was in AC. My luck at Harrah's has been poor, but the overall fun at that casino is the closest to Vegas. I actually prefer AC to the CT-based casinos (despite them being closer to where I live by a huge margin) because they're so much more fun and have an anything goes vibe.

Yeah I would agree that harrahs and borgata are both similar to solid vegas strip casinos. It's definitely a different crowd but I had such a great time and I hadn't been to a casino in 5 months so it bridged the gap until November :)

Only sobering moment if you will was I met a few couples in McCormick and Schmick- which has a great happy hour in Harrahs btw- who were down from NY. It was the weekend before 9/11 and they said they came down to get away every year during this time. One of the guys was on the 88th floor of the north tower when it was hit (to give perspective to some who aren't aware or from around these parts, it was 5 floors below the impact zone and that's the tower hit first). Apparently the PTSD was so bad they're never in NY this time of year and it was crazy to hear his story (his wife worked in the south tower). Makes you really thankful for what you have.

Harrahs is where I stay in AC and you can't beat the CET junkets. I haven't been in a long time but they still send me free flights and rooms. It's definitely old, but I never really cared much about my room. Your suite is one of the nicest rooms I have seen at Harrahs. Thanks for sharing. I'll have to take them up on those junket offers sometime soon to get back there. Beats the 5 hour flight to Vegas! Lol
